Hopefull future RCR SL-C owner

Greetings from Iowa, fellow gearheads,

this one was bitten by the "gearhead" bug in pre-teens, and has been striving to appease the malady ever since, with varying degrees of success. Recall in high school reading a car mag detailing the construction of a Manta kit car and being utterly fascinated. Graduated from HS, barely, & found a 66 Mustang 289 4bbl with glass packs for $750. That prettly much sealed this ones fate & there has been an addiction to the sound of high winding performance mills ever since, be it in a sport bike or in some sporty car.

Have owned, or been owned, not sure which, by a couple liter class sport bikes, a Porsche 914-4 (bad car!) a German BMW 323i (sweetest little 6 ever driven by yours truly) a Renault Alpine A310 (fun!), and a Lotus Esprite Turbo (really fun! very unreliable!).

But those days are over and there was always a desire in the back of the mind to build a car the way this one thot it should be, not the way some corporate exec wanted it. There are no perfect production cars out there.

One can ante up wheel barrow loads of cash and maybe have something custom made but it will not offer the same satisfaction as creating something you helped create in your own mind with your own hands. Its impossible to put a dollar value on that.
So it has been fascinating to find this very cool forum of guys already doing what this one very much wants to do.

A GT40 replica was strongly desired at one time, as well as an A.C. Cobra, but time has changed and refined tastes and for some time have been keeping tabs on the RCR SL-C. There is a lot to like about the car and the guy who created the idea.

Sorry it I was a bit long winded. Future posts will probably be brief.

Welcome to the forum Peter! Lots of info can be found in the SL-C sections of this forum.
Enjoy, and don't hesitate to ask away!
