Le mans Classic 2023 100th anniversary 24hrs

29th June - 2th july 2023
100th anniversary year 24hrs Le Mans

Website - Home - Le Mans Classic

Interesting lineup already (6th January '23),
Grid 4, eight GT40's including the roadster.
Grid 5, a mkII, two mk IV's and a '69 JWA GT40.

GT40 Enthusiasts Club has a parking space for GT40's inside the track (arranged with MTD).
GT40 Enthusiasts Club has a deal for tickets with Motorsport Travel Destinations | Motorsport Travel packages for racing fans

Il bring the 40 on a trailer behind our camper and stay at Hunaudiers campsite inside the track.
Hunaudiers campsite is a 50meters walk from the track where you see the cars coming from Dunlop braking into Mulsane.

Can anyone clarify the parking situation?, I understand that gt40 can gain access to the “ Bugatti “ parking free of charge, yet MTD want £75 per car
clarrification would be appreciated
thanks

For those attending the Le Mans Classic.
Like previous years, there's a WhatsApp group from the GT40 Enthusiasts Club that provides the latest information for those attending.
You are free to ask questions about the event.
Its also there to help each other out during the event if you ran into issues.

The club display will be on a different location as previous year, still within the Bugatti circuit, but all GT40's gather opposite the Ford GT group.

If you would like to be added to the Le Mans Classic '23 WhatsApp group, sent an email to Maxine with your details.
If you will, also sent details about your staying during the event & how you travel. It makes us easier to connect people to others when someone ran into issues.

[email protected]

Looking forward to see you all.

I had, through MTD.
But with the MTD debacle when they rebooked everyone without notice from Hunaudieres to Porsche curves I cancelled the whole package.
Blue Nord through ACO now with a club aranged infield pass but no track or parade or whatsoever now.

It appears 1075 is there from various different posts on numerous different media platforms.

I am unable to make it myself.

If any members are able, and willing to take any detailed photos of the engine bay of 1075, hoses, lines, routing, bracketry, etc, I would be extremely grateful, as I'm sure many other members would be also.

There are often many photos taken of the car, but detailed information seems to be hard to come by.

I believe 1046 is there also, and the same could be said of that.

Thank you in advance if anyone has any luck!

Jim's car came in various guises in red and was also at one time built up with a MkII rear clip.

Quite right Jimmy,

As I sit here at work there's a picture like that on my bench !
Mk2 rear body hanging over what look like standard size wheels, no rocker panel covers & two bulges in the front body over the radiator.
Somewhere I once had a picture of it with a modified front body for extra spare wheel clearance.

I was confused, because Chris Black post stated that car as 1107, while I knew it as 1109
#63 P1079 was still in Holland, it was replaced with a clone, Gelscoe car with permission of Peter Auto.

Wow, that's interesting....
Why would David Hart not bringP1079? But instead race a clone?
Just compared the pictures I took with the ones I took in 2018, I must say it's difficult to spot any differences.
But I found just a few ;-)
It's almost a carbon copy

P1079 blew two engines last year at LMC.
Both at Essens corner, I just watched them both blew.
The previous engine builder (Mathwall) couldn't piont why both blew. So DHG figured it must be car related.
They now had two brand new casting Dart Block (FIA allowes it now) GT40 engines build by Knight and also Knight engines build in Shelby Daytona spec (differend setting as GT40).
As there was no time to figur out if the engine issues where car (p1079) related or not, DHG opted for the Gelscoe clone with permission of Peter Auto.
The clone was at least not on track on sunday (didn't see the other races) Not sure why it didn't race as I havent spoke to the crew on sat & sunday (So much to see on LMC, time is to short).
My connection with the DHG crew. They helped me out fitting & aligning spider & doors. Both in the same timespan, as Oliver had ended up at its roof (2019 Spa 6hrs) and we where building.
