Lola GT Mk 6

A few years ago, I heard that Allen Grant owned it and he was writing a book about the car, so I contacted him and mentioned that I had a couple of pictures from 1963 if he wanted them. He did, so I sent them and he responded immediately, saying that he had never seen any color pictures of the original car, so now he knew what color to paint it.Allen was kink enough to invite Joline and I to visit his shop and see the car as well as a yellow Cobra that he had driven for Shelby.Here are pictures of that visit and my 1963 Kodachrome 35mm slide.

Our visit was a few years ago. I haven't seen the Leno program so if you have a link, please let me know. The first part of my text above was cut off so it doesn't say that I took a picture or two at the 'Ring in 1963 and overheard two British mechanics talking in the paddock... "Have you seen the new Lola?"..."It makes the Ferrari look like a lorry!"

In 2022, the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia had a talk called "The Birth of the GT40". Allen Grant was there with his Lola. There were also three GT40s there (two belonged to the museum). The talk is on YouTube
