Misterious gt40 for sale in italy

Ciao Paolo,
I contacted the guy selling this car. He is in Rome and the car is a Tornado replica built in 1970 with a Rover V8 engine and right hand drive. He imported the car and now is trying to register it in Italy. He sent me the pictures and I have to say that it doesn't look very nice.
I am looking for a used GT 40 replica from UK to import and register in Italy but it seems quite impossible to find a left hand drive car.
Do you know if there are GT 40 replicas registered in Italy?

Ciao Luigi,
will try talk in english here to be clear also to other forum guys.
According from what I know seems also in italy are arriving some vehicles (mostly from UK),but too often those are the very first replicas (usually Kva, the first replica manifacturer at the time in Uk).
I had the opportunity to see the "serious" stuff in last le mans classic 2006, and the difference between the first ones and the NEW cars is terrific.
More,in our country there are more or less 5 gt40s 3 of whom completed and one (a GTD in milano owned by Uk garage)still for sale unassembled.
What really is disappointing is to see the dramatic price increase of those cars down here (as well as for Cobras..).
The car in this auction is scheduled for 45.000 euros, and its real value is probably around 10.000(early kva,3.5rover..unknown transaxle..and a general too tired appearence)

If u love the gt40 as I deeply do (and think people here inside wants to kill me:Dcause already made several time my LOVE declaration),I suggest u first of all to join one of the 2 wonderful Uk club (Gt40 enthusiast club or the GTD club uk).
Both are cool and produce periodic magazines too interesting and full of tips and hints to know about the car(the pleasure to find that white a4format letter with the "fortyfication" magazine inside delivered to you is something too special, believe me:))
Join the clubs is very easy..i just dunno why I still dont have joined also the GTD club..always telling myself next month..next month..:)

Internet is wonderful to contact people..but if u seriously think to buy a car it is really better to keep really in contact with friends up there, they can surely help u and I noted often they sell cars wellknown by members(thats the best warranty)

All the cobras I've seen down here are sold at Porsche prices (mostly Dax and Pilgrims). The only nice gt40 running around here is the blue w/stripes one belgian plated, owned by Pietro Silva in Modena and spotted several times in our "ruoteclassiche" magazine.

Hope to be helpful for u Luigi,I only know that I love what I saw in le mans, and the gt40 is absolutely something too special in the way of cars...

Paolo :) pm me if u want

Ciao Paolo,
Thanks for your suggestion ! I will follow.
I sent an e-mail to your personal address.
Buona notte
Luigi

This car was in the UK only a few weeks ago. I have been told it was registered as a Tornado, but Andy Sheldon said it was not?????????
Dunno what it is.

Simon,
It is possible this red is a Tornado?..the auction says 1970 build..but maybe it is referred only to plate registration.
If I am not wrong at the time was only Kwa the producer....not so sure.

Paolo

If the car itself was built in 1970, as the seller says, it cant be a Tornado. They only started making them in 1989... You do the maths.
