New GT40 MFR in UK

Paul, Malcolm, Andrew etc. & GTD Members

Thanks for the support! This will be something special for me(owning a 40). As a young boy I first saw a GT40 at the Brighton Speed trials, late 70's early 80's. And that was it!

So the for the best part of 20 years I have wanted one! I have never changed my mind either. The usual remarks from friends which I am sure you can relate to like "why don't you buy a Ferrari or a Porsche?". No chance! The GT40 is such a unique car. And after watching everyone this year at the club events I took the plunge.

I am happy to say that my company will be funding the project.

I'm very happy with Mark and MDA. The car will be real killer!

Looking forward to next year. A lot to learn still. But thats half the fun I guess!

Regards,

"...I'm very happy with Mark and MDA."

I thought you got married to Louise in August? I hope she doesn't see your comments here!

Better yet, tell her to come and join Wendy and Mo and to drive quicker than the boys. Mo does it to Martin (all the time!

) and I dread the day when Wendy beats me! Oh do be quiet Paul, she only got a better time at Brighton cos I broke down!!

See you two again at the club lunch?

Hey JP, is that a picture of you on your website? If it is, I'll be pulling over to let you pass next year and offering maximum respect!

Like JP, I have stuck fast on wanting a GT40 too despite a lot of suggestions from friends.

Hopefully I will soon be able to follow & take the plunge, maybe next year?

No it isn't! But if I my results are poor early in the season I might have to bring him along for some help. We sponsor another guy who is even bigger! His arms are 25inch in diameter! Who needs a trolly jack!!

Maxiboy,

Yes, stick with the GT40. I'm sure everyone can relate to remarks about practicality etc. What rubbish! If you want something with a boot you buy a saloon car with all your luxuries, if you want fast and noisy you buy a GT40.

And an important point here also worth remembering. There is nothing worse than driving a sports car that can carry shopping and gifts. The wife will be shouting in your ear. "Don't corner so fast, the eggs will break." Or maybe "Oh shit there goes Aunt Maggie's crystal glass!".

Maxiboy, if you are in the Bournemouth area you should give Mark Sibley a call he isn't too far from you. To contact : MDA GT40

And I would recommend joining the GTD40 club at: GTD40 Club Website

That'll fuel your desire even more!

Regards,

J.P

JP,
"We sponsor another guy who is even bigger! His arms are 25inch in diameter! "

Are you sure this guy isn't an elephant? A diameter of 25 inches means 78 inches round. In other words, about the same as my waistline!!
