New ownership of GT40 Replications Ltd (NZ)

My name is Dave Harvey. I have pleasure in announcing the takeover of GT40 Replications Ltd, now Phil Wares previous company. I would like to briefly state who I am and what I intend to do. I invite any queries from all parties.

Phil has run the company as an “interest” for a number of years and due to the increase in activity and the work this would create believed this was a good time to exit the management and ownership of the business. Phil has been retained as a consultant and I’m sure his extensive experience will continue to be a great assistance.

For my part this is a total and very exciting change in my career direction. My past has, for the majority of my working life, has been in Information Technology!! Prior to that I was training as a Civil Engineer so I believe I have an eye for good engineering. Born in NZ, I have lived and operated from Australia for 8 years then moved to London for 10 years in various management roles culminating in owning and developing a successful Cisco Network services house over 7 years focused on large media companies. I sold the company prior to Y2K.

Although maintaining interests in IT companies I love cars, fast cars (my last beauty prior to a GT40 was a Ferrari 355 F1GTS) and wrote down my dream job – making and servicing a global market of fast cars. I called Phil and the rest as they say is history.

I intend to increase capacity in all areas - traditional “kits”, complete cars and an online spares business. At this point I’m all ears and have read the GT40 forum so I understand the build manual is a priority as is the production of all information related to the car. The pricing is confusing on the web site so please bare with me I will rectify these as quickly as possible.

I do not profess to be an automotive expert but I have come from a services based business so I know how to react to queries. If I don’t have an answer I’ll keep you informed honestly of the progress until I do!!

I would honestly love to hear any comments good, bad or indifferent as I can only learn more about what my client needs and desires are.

My contact numbers, as they are not on the website as yet are, +64 9 480 2722 or +64 21 238 5114. Thank you for your time.

Regards,

Dave Harvey

Hello Dave,
I for one am very surprised to see this news here.

I currently have a kit on order from Phil.
I wired a deposit on the last week of August.

Hopefully, this has not affected the production of my kit in any way,,,,,,,but I have not heard from Phil (or anyone), so I am "in the dark" at the moment.

I am also a bit concerned(as I am sure you can understand)

I was thinking/planning (once my initial kit was delivered) to make arrangements with Phil to become the US distributor.
My thought was to have my initial kit as a "demo",,then maybe start with an initial order of four more kits?

Of course, at the moment, my focus is on recieving the kit which I've ordered.

Any news posted here/ or e-mailed to me is much appreciated,

I did just get an e-mail from Phil.
He has informed me of the current status of my kit and of the current events.

My car is proceeding (a little behind schedule), but I am certain will be well worth the wait.

As I posted earlier, I am also interested in possibly becoming the US supplier for the kits. This is something I'd be interested in discussing in the future, with Dave.

Welcome Dave, and Good luck on your new endeavor. It's nice to see an owner come to this board and make that announcement. I
belive it shows honesty and good relations to the present and future consumers.
I have heard nothing but good about Phil and I also wish him well and good fortune.
