Newbie

Hi from Switzerland,

I am a race car mechanic, mainly single seater experience.
Been looking after various 1960's endurance race cars for about 3 years now.

I recently discovered the forum and have enjoyed reading the threads.

Looking forward to the journey.......

Welcome Trevor, We'll look forward to hearing more about your mechanic experience. In the meantime anything you need to know about the GT40 is right here. Enjoy.

Thanks tractorboy, I'm sure the forum will be of great use to me.
There are 3 living 40's here and are all used for circuit racing from time to time. :burnout:

Hi Trevor
Welcome
I presume the 3 cars to which you refer are Claude Nahume's cars
He posts here (infrequently) but is a great supporter of the marque and keeping the racing series going.

Hi Trevor,

so you´re indeed the T70 magician looking after Claude´s T70 MK3?

If so, you once must have caused quite a lot of chaos at your workshop
as all others stopped working for a sneaky look over your shoulder to get
a glimpse of your amazing work.

At least that´s what I´ve read. Claude seems to be raving about your work.

Welcome!

Marcus

Hi and welcome Trevor, I hope you end up with a gt40 of some kind in the near future! I just got a CAV mono with a 302 on webers in May of this year, what a great car and lots of fun, I also work on vintage race cars, mainly Ferrari and maserati over on the east coast of the U.S. cant wait to see what you end up with!!! all the best for now, Neville Nesbitt.

Hi Markus,

Many thanks for the kind words,

I had a little peek at your build thread...... seems like you are the true magician.

Perhaps one day I will be able to see the project in person.
Keep up the fantastic work.....

Kind regards,
Wigwam

Hi Neville,

I am lucky enough to be able to look after a few Beautiful GT40's.
I treat them as if they were my own, but for now, that's about as far as it goes. I can only dream of owning one.
Sounds like you have a pretty interesting job too..... are the cars you work on runners or show cars?
Do you get to any European events?

Sounds like you have purchased a great project car that will keep you well amused.
Hope that She survived Sandy without any issues........

Looking forward to seeing some pics of her.

Kind regards,
Wigwam

Trevor, We'd love to see photos of those cars you look after. Hopefully Mr. Nahume wouldn't mind. I believe I'm correct in saying he had Gelscoe make him a duplicate of 1076?

Neville, welcome to the CAV family. Have you registered your car on the US CAV website?

Hi Jim, could you piont me in the right direction for the U.S. CAV website, thanks, Neville.

Neville, here's the CAV US website. The person running the operation is Johann Keyser a TOP BLOKE for sure. www.cav-america.com

Johann can be reached at 919-924-9891. You can also go to his new website to see some of his very cool motorcycle re-fits. www.motomotivo.com

Again, welcome to the CAV family and many apologies to you Trevor for the thread drift but to say I'm of envious of you would be an understatement. What a great job you have!
