Now here's something to get our pulses racing - the combination of old school glamour and motor sport heritage. We just wish we could afford a bid.
Steve McQueen made one of the greatest (and enigmatic) racing movies with his 1970 classic 'Le Mans' and the car he drove in the opening sequences, this beautiful Porsche 911S, is up for auction in Monterey, California.

Built to the highest 1970 specification with air conditioning and a full complement of factory options, the Slate Grey 911S stars in the film's opening sequences as McQueen's character drives through the French countryside to Le Mans.
McQueen also used the Porsche as his personal transport during the movie's production before shipping it back to the States where it joined his own collection of cars that over the years included multiple Ferraris, more Porsches, airplanes, motorcycles and a Jaguar XK-SS.
RM Auction's chairman, Rob Myers, has high hopes for the car expected to be one of the highlights at the August sale in Monterey.
"There is no more iconic racing film than 'Le Mans' and no more charismatic owner of many of the world's great sports cars than Steve McQueen," said Myers. "Combining a well-documented history with an exciting celebrity and screen provenance, it will make for a valuable addition to any notable car collection."
Watch the video below to see the car and the King of Cool together in perfect harmony.
