Pedal Mounting

Pedal Mounting

I'm trying to mount up my pedals and front "firewall". I have the pedal assembly, the rose joints, and two rods with two rod ends that don't quite fit into the rod.

I have an idea with what to do with these, but I was wondering if there is a good procedure for fitting the rods and pedal assembly. Any thoughts here? The manual doesn't have anything on this bit and although I am certain I can figure something up I would like to save time.

Also, my brake rod has no tab to work the brake light switch like the rod in my manual picture. Am I missing something here or do I need to weld on a tab? At what point? Do it after the fitting wherever it needs to be?

Thanks,
Ron

Ron,

Congratulations on getting the site back up.

I will get Sam to send you some photographs of the pedal box in situe and a fitting proceedure. As regards to the tab, it should be on the push rod. I will send you information of its location and if you are not happy about welding it in place I will send one to you free of charge. Please accept my appologies but occasionally things do slip through.

Best wishes,

Robert

Thanks Robert,

Looking forward to the photos. The tab is no big deal, I'm not a professional welder but I can do that much for sure. Thanks for the offer on the rod though, that is good service from RF.

Thought I'd relight this issue as it is somewhat pertinent to my latest issue. I am getting close to mounting the pedal box - have the bulkhead in, the a/c, most of the brake lines, the steering and now noticed that there is no way the brake rod will fit. It runs into the flange that holds the steering rack bushing in place. Any ideas? Hopefully I don't have to yank the steering and grind the flange off, that would be a major pain is the rear.

Or am I just looney and not seeing the forest for the trees?

Pat,
