performance information

Hi People,

It has been suggested to me that I might like to consider a 302 with Motec rather than the 351 I was originally thinking of.

I'm therefore looking for recommendations on books (or websites) to guide me in my choice of engine and tuning options.

In short I need to know what can be done to these, and what gains are given. I know this is a 'piece of string' type question, which is why I asked for book advice, so I can go read rather than just ask.

If you think of me as a total dumb-ass when it comes to small block fords you won't be far off the mark /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Btw this is for a car generally intended for track day fun.

I am not an engine builder. However the comments I have heard from some are that a highly tuned small block in a light car will out accelerate the bigger engine from a rolling start because the lighter weight components of the small block will wind up faster. Kind of like the light flywheel concept. Talk to a good engine builder before you decide. This theory sounds interesring but I still like cubic inches!
