Registering a kit car in Florida?

I searched on this, and couldn't find anything Florida specific. I called the tiltle office and DMV, and neither could give me much info on it. Apparently there's a big packet of rules to registering a kit car. Has anyone registered a car in FL, or know how the process works? Cost? Time?
