RF GT40 ?'s

RF GT40 ?\'s

First off, I have contacted Gordon and he is sending me some info but it's Sunday night and I have some time to kill. What entails the "racing" option for the RF? Does a Porsche G50 trans fit into an RF? Has anyone seen the full roll cage option, up close and personel? Can one order the base package and add the options desired? What hubs/spindles does the RF use? What are the offsets/back spacing of either the Halibrand or BRM wheels? What are the "race seats?" I see two different prices for the exhaust packages, almost a 4 to 1 price difference, is this based on "authenticity?" I have a pretty nice collection of brand new/slightly used performance parts from my last project build, not to mention my Mustang racing days and I'm just curious what I could possibly recycle for my next project. The GTD I was looking at has sold, now I'm eyeing the RF packages.
Thanks in advance.

Greg

Re: RF GT40 ?\'s

greg, to answer some of your questions. The base body/chassis kit has been discontinued. Our base kit now is the rolling chassis kit. I do have pictures of the roll cage if you would like me to e-mail them to you, please let me know.
The price difference on the exhaust is the less expensive is the standard 4 into 2 and the other is the full 180 degree bundle of snakes. I don't think there will be much in the way of Mustang parts that will work, give me a call and we can discuss what you have and what may work, as well as answer many of the questions I haven't answered here.

Re: RF GT40 ?\'s

Gordon,
Thanks for the reply. Did you get the info/price pack out?Yes I would like to see the roll cage, or what it entails. Shoot me the pics, ( the race seat too, if you have it.) The rolling chassis package will have to do if I go that way. I just didn't want to pay for stuff I wasn't going to use. Does the RF use Chev or Ford hubs? I'm looking at large rotors and multi piston FIXED caliper brakes as well as a Porsche/Getrag or ZF 6 speed box. I think 380 cubes of all aluminum SBF would be just about right. I want it to look like a GT40 on the outside, stuffed with all sorts of nasty fast bits with giant binders and rubber. The Mustang "pieces" entail dual cylinder master cylinders with a brake bias bar, engine stuff, hell even Pantera stuff, if need be. I don't mean to offend any of the guys who strive for authenticity but, like I told you on the phone, I want to build it my way. I hope there is room for my vision here.

Thanks Gordon,

Greg
PS Gordon, what days are you open for business? I have some use or lose vacation time, I might be able to sneak over and talk to you. My son just got transferred to Luke, now I have an excuse to go to Phoenix. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif
