I'm in the process (as in previous post) of installing a rod shift in a GTD with a southern gt rear end.
I'm looking at threading the last section of rod linkage through the chassis and am trying to work out how to get the rod aligned with the gearbox.
In an ideal world, the rod will be aligned with the central line of the gearbox so it runs true and not left or right, but I see no reason why the rod should not be angled up at the back by a few degrees (say 10-ish degrees?) can anyone else?
As long as the rod is adequately supported and flexes as little as possible, it should have no effect on the operation should it?

will post a pic if needed
