Roll cage and spider support question

Doesn't a roll cage have to be installed (normally) before the roof is installed? I have been told by those that found out the hard way to NEVER grab the A pillar of a steel roofed car when climbing in or out. I would think a fiberglass roof is far weaker.
The RCR40 six point has to be installed before both the dash and with the rear bulkhead, well before the spider.

Ian, can you use the articles I wrote for the GT40 Club magazines ( 3 separate articles ) , they still apply ! Frank
I suggest reading the articles by Frank Catt before considering installing a roll cage. The chances of rolling a GT40 with its very low CofG are pretty remote anyway but the chances of serious injury from the cage itself are enough to ditch the idea. At 6’2” a lower seat tub and the pedal box moved forward made a Gurney Bubble unnecessary in my GTD - the chance of serious, even fatal head injuries from smacking my head on the frame encroaching on what little space was left ruled the out any such installation.
