SL-C Fuel tank..... access

Does anyone have any pics of the fuel tank mounted in an SL-C before the interior tub goes in? This car I recently finished for a customer is pouring gas from the top of the tank.

I did not install this, the car showed up "turn key(ish)" And I am positive that the paint I put on the body did not cause a fuel leak. I am just trying to figure out how to help this guy.

Is there a wall between the tub and the tank? possibly cut an access hole in the tub? I have no idea what's behind the interior.

Take out the seats, then the panel behind them. You can go from there. Hopefully you will find a loose fitting of hose clamp. Good luck. If you need more help post pictures and we will lend you a virtual hand.

There's just an aluminum panel behind the seats that runs from side-to-side on the car. For easier access I cut mine in half and then ran a plate down the middle to join the 2 halves together to make it easier to service.

If you're lucky they just drilled/tapped a few holes to hold the panel in place. If you're unlucky they rivetted the living shit out of it to make sure it would never go anywhere

If he’s got the tub he can’t just take the seats and “a panel” out. On mine I had the tub and then an aluminum panel that also covered the entirety of the tank. The only way is to cut a big ass access hole in the tub and then also the tub panel directly below it.

I've never studied the interior tub before - yea, if they installed it as one piece it looks like you're screwed and are going to have to cut a really big hole to get the tank out.

Good news though is the aluminum panel behind the tub will protect the gas tank from being poked when you cut the tub ... assuming they installed it.

I appreciate the replies. I am going to go over to his house this weekend and were going to put it on the hoist and see if we can see something. Hoping its just something dumb. It only does this when the tank is full. Hopefully we can peek around underneath and see something.

Interior is this, but I have some ideas if we absolutely need to cut some access panels.

The bottom of my car was closed off with aluminum under the tank from RCR. This was a 2015 car. I’d get a flexible camera, the only two locations I know of are the vent fitting and the gauge location on very top of tank.

Does anyone have any pics of the tank they got with their car? This is an LT4 build. I'm just looking for some type of road map here.
