SLC wFGT Drivetrain

Thanks for all your responses to my other thread and I continue to lean toward the SLC. I have searched but not found what is involved in using a 2005/2006 Ford GT drivetrain in an SLC. Has anyone successfully put this drivetrain in an SLC? I understand that the ECU will need to be modified, excess wiring will exist and modification of SLC engine cover may be required?

I can tell you it has not been done yet....but we have used masses of Ricardo transaxles and we have installed Ford modular engines...which are the same size as the Ford GT engine...minus the blower.

So it can be done without any issues on the hardware side.....I am sure someone online or here thats into the Ford Modular tuning will have an answer to your ECU questions...

Obviously you will need custom headers etc but thats par for the course on a custom build of anykind.

Thanks Fran. What do you think based on the attached link to pictures of FGT drivetrain. Is the alternator sticking out too far requiring remount like I have seen on LS3 motors used in SLC?

I would say its going to need remounting....
