Spesial care – combination of alu, steel and eletrik current.

Sorry about my english.

Se that RCR is made of aluminum. Do they ned to take spesial care to avoid corrosion due to the mix of steel, aluminium and eletrik current ?

What about sound deffening, «normal» kit cars have spaceframe chassis with riveted alu plate covers and sound deffening materials in betwen. How do you make a RCR «sound prof», or you dont, it is a more race oriented car ?

There is very little steel that comes in to contact with the aluminium tub.

There are many ways to isolate the two materials and I think a search on the forum will reveal many different approaches .....most all have merit.

Sound deadening material can be attached using adhesive much like any other car..replica or production.
A process that will help in many respects is to coat the underside of the chassis with a sound deadening coating such as Rhino Liner....(http://www.theautochannel.com/news/2006/06/16/011567.html
used by the military also in many applications)

It has to be remembered that GT40's
were and are first and foremost...RACE CARS...period....using an original shaped body with correct chassis dimensions only amplifies this...

As mentioned else where on the forum today ....one of the joys of assembling a kit is that you can make it anything you want it to be.......

Hope this helps
