SAFIR GT40 SPARES LLC ANNOUNCES THE LICENSING OF THE SUPERFORMANCE GT40 CONTINUATION SERIES<o:p></o:p>

Safir GT40 Spares LLC, owners of GT40 Mark and Superformance, announce the licensing of Superformance and Hi-Tech produced vehicles, MKII and MKI, as the continuation GT40P 2000 Series.

The MKII and MKI are currently in production. The MKII model replicates the 1966 GT40s that finished at LeMans first, second, and third.

Specifications for the MKII will be exactly that of the original – 40.5 inches high, steel monocoque chassis and roof, and racecar suspension design. The MKI is similar to the endurance racing and street exotics that dominated the late-1960s.

Both the MKII and MKI models will leave the factory as complete rolling chassis, lacking only the engine, clutch and transaxle. The cars can be powered by Roush engines, and fitted with the new RBT/ZF style 5-speed transaxle. Clients also have the option to fit their MKI or MKII with the Ford-based 289, 302, or 351 small block or 427 big block (MKII only) engines.

The chassis is an exact replication of the original monocoque down to the pressed steel roof spider. The only departure is the use of electro-galvanized sheet steel in the construction. The chassis, at over 12,000 pounds per degree is stiffer than any other chassis on the market, and is made up of over 244 laser cut and bent or pressed parts.

John Sadler, director for Safir GT40 Spares comments that, “Superformance and Hi-Tech have a strong record and reputation for building high quality and high performance versions of mid-sixties classics. The professionalism of Superformance has been an asset in structuring this agreement, consistent with enhancing the GT40 image, and assigning the licensed mark and identification to this exciting new series. The registry will reflect these cars as newly manufactured variants of the original GT40. In essence, a true continuation series.”

Lance Stander, <st1:stockticker w:st="on">CEO</st1:stockticker> of Superformance added, “The Superformance team is very pleased with the strong endorsement and support we have received from Safir GT40 Spares, and look forward to a long relationship. The serial identification and registry process that Safir will bring to the MKI and MKII continuation provide the type of authentication that this re-creation of the GT40 legend and its customers deserve.”

Finished MKI and MKII automobiles will accurately resemble the original LeMans winners and will feature modern technology upgrades to improve overall durability, street handling, and convenience. The MKI and MKII comes complete with full air conditioning, a full exhaust system, engine installation kit that includes all necessary pulleys and brackets, side shafts, shifter kit for the RBT/ZF transaxle, racing four point harness, and twin filler caps.

Superformance has been in business for over twelve years with sixteen dealers in the <st1:place w:st="on"><st1:country-region w:st="on">United States</st1:country-region></st1:place> and have shipped over 2,600 cars during this period. The cars re licensed and endorsed by Safir Engineering as true continuation cars and carry the GT40P chassis number. Superformance will market and distribute the new GT40s, both MKI and MKII, through its existing global dealer network.
