Using the UN1 'box in my build, and connecting to BMW u/j's and drive shafts.
Cut off the 3 eared extensions and delivered the splined sections to a highly qualified local welder. He has come back, after a couple of attempts, to say the metal/heat treatment of the splined section is causing grief when welding to new mild steel drive flanges. He has tried diferent rods (TIG) and very slow cooling, but is not confident of the finished weld.
I would appreciate any comments.
