What Insurance company are you using? (USA)

Hagerty is the only company that is writing new policies in California right now. For a stated/agreed value policy, the rate is much higher if you are talking about a $250K vehicle. Just went through this adventure a few months ago.

Call Robbin Terry. He reps all the collector car companies that you would ever consider using and will get you a better price than going direct. Underwriting company and price is totally based upon what state you live in. If you are in California (like me), good luck as since the fires, there is only one underwriter. I am grateful there is one.....

Hagerty through State Farm here, but just heads up (and don’t know if normal), I had to provide historical high performance vehicle ownership, those cars’ displacement & HP, as well as racing school / license resume to a manual underwriter, plus sign an affidavit affirming I will be the sole driver (other than mechanic, transport, racing instructor) to get a real quote instead of generic … just under $2K / year for $250K coverage but I also have to keep annual miles under 5K because of “replica” title, which is a DMV thing not a Hagerty thing.

I have nearly a dozen (but way less valuable) fast Fords with a couple more on the way, and I probably won’t drive any one car more than 2K miles a year, but I DO drive everything. I think my annual bill is creeping North of $12K, so I definitely need to do some insurance shopping.

That must be a State Farm thing because I have and have had a GT and Pantera through Hagerty and did not have to provide any of that stuff. My agreed value is same as yours and price a bit more but that's all because of CA location.

Damn those prices are scary!
Well compared to what I paid UK side at around £300 a year from 2006 to 2022 when I sold it 3000 miles a year (£45k guaranteed value)
Other than 2017 when I had my daughter on as second driver 22 year old. ( this was £800 for the year) Deductible around £250

I also had full cover for Le Mans classic full track use over the weekend and medical at £10m for £280 but first payable /deductible for this was £3000)

As all these policies end up inLloyds of London is it worth trying this side of the pond?

When I was in the satellite launch business, we insured all the satellites through LoL in the event our launch went boom. Probably cost you my annual premium just to engage them. Interesting thought however.

American Modern, I was able to insure my car even before it was painted, bondo and all, they just wanted some pictures, title and declared value. Super easy process. I pay $533 a year, just renewed this month so it is an updated price. I have it insured for a declared value of $80K if I remember correctly.

It is insured as a collector vehicle, 5000 miles per year. The number I found is 1800 543 2644.

I hope this information is helfpul
