Good morning all,
Yesterday I was fortunate enough to acquire (what I think is a) Fiberfab Avenger GT40 fibreglass body + pan (very rusted) + front suspension + gearbox… To be honest I do not know where to begin… All I have is what you see in the photo’s… No window frames, no door mechanisms, no locks, no dashboard, quite frankly not much of anything. I also do not know exactly what I have… The vehicle has been given to me by a friend… Apparently it’s been under a tree, rotting away for the last 28 years…
I’ve always wanted a completely unique project vehicle, and I think this is the one. I’m still rather ‘torn’ as to what I’m going to end up doing... Part of me wants to drop a Porsche motor in and do a few hill climbs/races and the other part of me wants to build a ‘bug’ that I can cruise in the bush with and travel along the dunes up the beach to go fishing and paddling... Not sure yet
I reside in Richards Bay, Kwazulu/Natal on the east coast of South Africa and would really appreciate any advice or help you could provide me with i.e. What vehicle is this? Did they have a series number? Were there different models? Was the windscreen from another vehicle? Were the door locks and mechanisms unique to this vehicle or from another? Did the back window come with glass or polycarbonate?
