I recently acquired several ZF 5DS-25-2 transaxles from an estate of a custom car builder who passed away. I went hoping to get either his gt40 or pantera but they were gone by the time I made the trip. I did whoever purchase out a number of pieces from his garage u tip I filled my truck. All these transaxles are set up for the Pantera so they will need to be flipped and gone through with new seals and gaskets as you replace anyway when servicing them before installation. There are no welds or repairs that I could find in any of them. I have looked over these transmissions and noticed some missing bolts on the exterior case. One does have a crack by the bellhousing that I have a spare case with internals for or it could be welded and the extra case used to build another box. They all engage gear and turn with no noise but again would need to be opened up and gone through when setting them up to be ‘flipped’ and used in a gt40. I’m now asking $11,000 OBO for each and can deliver for a charge or if too far can deliver to a drop freight location where you can make arrangement/payment with them. If the buyer wants I can have deliver it to Ron McCall’s shop and have him tear it down, hot tank it, reassemble, check tole dances, safety wire ring gear and flip and set up for gt40 or Lola, etc. Price for this total would be $13,250. I will try and separate the photos to show each transaxle separately.
