Can it be 3 weeks since the last post here? Where have all the fans gone? :shifty:

Anyway, rubbish race today - agree Pete? :dozey:

I only just finished watching it. The reason it has been three weeks is because F1 has been on a mid summer break, not because it is boring. I think so far this season there has been more excitement and more overtaking all through the field than in previous years. From that perspective I think the organisers have done a good job. Sorry Tim. I do think double points at the end of the season is total BS.
I think if someone like Bottas or Ricciardo came out of the pack towards the end and won the championship because of that it would be less of a victory.
I think Bernie is on record saying he thinks the same.

The booing of Nico at the podium presentation by one assumes the Lewis fans
was disgraceful. But I don't think you can blame the organisers for that,it seems to me that it is more indicative of a general lack of respect and ignorance that is happening in society today.
For instance watch the behaviour of fans at golf tournaments particularly on the American circuit.
Tim I agree about V8SC I never watch them these days and could not tell who is leading the championship. On the other hand Speedweek on SBS is a must.

Oh and in case you lot didn't notice a certain Aussie kept his head and drove a magnificent race to win...again beating his four time world champion team mate.

What did you think of Lewis throwing his toys out of the pram and wanting to stop?

Because F1 is now an economy run with rules governing every engine change etc I give him the benefit of the doubt and accept his stated reasoning.
I doubt he would have done it in the days when F1 was a race, but I also doubt he, nor indeed most of the others, would be out there either.
I can't imagine many of the old school drivers making that choice, but given today's environment perhaps it was the smart decision.

I just tonight watched the race. For me, the race was over after the failed and unskilled attempt to pass LH. I would have loved to see the pass work, but instead, it diminished what could have been a pretty good 4-car race. These two have diced it up before, but with much more skill then observed today. They brought their hatchet today instead of the scalpel. I lfoved the start, finish was okay, fast forwarded the rest.

So Pete,

There is no doubt that the smiling Australian is the real deal, I'm just wondering how to pronounce his name.....
Is it pronounced Ricardo like Lucy and Dezi or Ricky-ardo...

He pronounces it like the Lucy and Dezi...Ricardo. Of course I'm far to young to remember that show, so I had to ask Keith.

Surprised there is not more talk of the Italian GP

Stralian bloke (Bob speak) seems to have the upper hand over ZEE German
He made that pass look easy

Has Hamilton spat the dummy enough to get Rosberg's spirit taken down a notch or two?

Merc team certainly is not loved by the fans if the Boos were anything to go by

Ok, so now let's get some final projections to the 2014 world champion, given the crazy idea of double points for the final! Who wants to put their hand up first? How about Ricciardo after a bit of stock car racing between the Mercedes boys ?

I'd say Nico, Daniel and Lewis in that order.

I'll roll the last two. If a Mercedes driver takes it at all (in other words, they don't take each other out) then it should be a one/two finish for the team and drivers:

Nico, Lewis, then Daniel

Poor Sebastian, he will finally have to realize he's not the driver he thought he was given a less than ideal or the best car.

Just got back from Singapore, my liver is in recovery. Terrific race and a great city.
Lewis drove very well, Nico had no luck, Alonso should have been penalised for his missing the first Chicane, he passed two cars but only gave back one position.
The honey bear was very lucky to finish but still managed to beat Vettel.
