Frankly I think we're past knee deep in Voodoo and Chicken feathers..
I think the only man that has enough political clout and business sense to pull us out of the whole we've allowed past administrations to put us in, is non other than "Wing Nut" Ross Perot -

Perot was/is an interesting bird. He lead back in 92, by a fair amount, at one point, before that bizarre hoax was played on him that Bush's campaign had compromising pictures of his daughter (it did not) and he dropped out (only to reenter the race five weeks before the election and he still won 20% of the popular vote).
Support came from the left, and the right. He is pro choice, a protectionist when it comes to trade, pro gun, and in favor of a balanced budget.

Just prior to the debates, Perot received 7-9% support in nationwide polls.[26] It is likely that the debates played a significant role in his ultimate receipt of 19% of the popular vote. Although his answers during the debates were often general, many Democrats and Republicans conceded that Perot won at least the first debate. In the debate he remarked: "Keep in mind our Constitution predates the Industrial Revolution. Our founders did not know about electricity, the train, telephones, radio, television, automobiles, airplanes, rockets, nuclear weapons, satellites, or space exploration. There's a lot they didn't know about. It would be interesting to see what kind of document they'd draft today. Just keeping it frozen in time won't hack it."
Like I said, interesting guy. I don't agree with all of what he stood for, but I agree with a lot and admire the fact that he never followed a party line -- he did believed in what he thought was right.
At 80 though, too old for a serious run in 2012 (when he will be 82).

In the now-notorious, long, rambling interview with two newspaper journalists, Louis M. Lyons, of the Boston Globe, and Ralph Coghlan, of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, Kennedy opined:
"It's all a question of what we do with the next six months. The whole reason for aiding England is to give us time." ... "As long as she is in there, we have time to prepare. It isn't that [Britain is] fighting for democracy. That's the bunk. She's fighting for self-preservation, just as we will if it comes to us... I know more about the European situation than anybody else, and it's up to me to see that the country gets it,"[18] ( sorry i just threw up ! )
In British government circles during the Blitz, Ambassador Kennedy was widely disparaged as a defeatist. He fled to the countryside during the bombings of London by German aircraft.
