Lucas 608 with rubber surround

Hi all

I've been trying to find a nice lucas 608 mirror for my GT40 build for a while and a friend of mine surprised me for my birthday and said he's bought me one.

He's got me a later model with the rubber surround so does anyone know if this can be removed easily and essentially is it still the same mirror as the original GT40 mirrors?

Yes to both questions. Only difference I know of is the colour and shape of the dipping knob (white and round on originals).

Furthermore, i may have the correct mounting bracket available.
I had a batch made from an original and im now wondering if there were a few left and where they are squirreled away...
