Superformance has made plenty ofGT40 replicas in the past, and it's bringing a new one to this year'sSEMA Show that uses a modified version of the 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 out of the current Ford GT. No, the car isn't built off the new GT's chassis, but it ends up looking a bit like the GT from 2005 with a dash of the newest version in front. What makes these Superformance cars special is that they're built on chassis designed to replicate the original GT40 as close as possible. About two-thirds of the steel chassis parts are completely interchangeable with the original car from the 1960s.

This one happens to have a weird name, Future GT Forty, but the folks over at Superformance appear to have created what looks like an awesome car to drive on paper. The twin-turbo V6 gets Garrett turbos and a fuel system by Aeromotive. A custom exhaust from Magnaflow plays the note out the back, while all engine installation work is handled by V's Performance. You'll get a Quaife five-speed manual transmission for this beast too — guaranteed to be more engaging than the seven-speed dual-clutch in the current GT. Ridetech Shockwave provided an air suspension, and HRE wheels get wrapped in sticky Michelin rubber. It's been painted and stickered by Superformance and Hillbank Motorsports to complete the appearance's effect.

Unfortunately, Superformance doesn't provide any power or acceleration figures for the car. We'll be driving the Future GT Forty after the 2018 SEMA Show to see what Superformance is capable of making, so look out for our first drive review. In the meantime, you'll be able to check it out at the show in the Magnaflow booth come Oct 30.

One VERY important piece of info was omitted....................................................HOW MUCH???

God willing, wifey and I will be attending SEMA again this year. I'm going to check that puppy out!

(I'll try to ignore the V6...)

Edit: Crap. I just noticed it's RHD. I'll still check it out...but I won't be in the market for one...

'Stupid "edit timer" expired:

What I tried to add was: "'Might not have been in the market for one anyway because of the V6...but, that would have depended on its performance figures. The darned car COULDN'T weigh all that much."

Looks like a one off show car. I cant imagine anyone wanting to buy a Gt40 with a V6 for big bucks regardless of the performance

No, they intend for it to be an orderable model in either LHD or RHD. There are dealer sheets coming to use in the near future.
I am waiting to see how the intercooler(s) are handled, I assume they are rear mounted otherwise the pipe length will need to be addressed for lag.

Aaaaaaaaaaaah...NOW you be talkin'!

But, as Jason opined:
"I cant imagine anyone wanting to buy a Gt40 with a V6 for big bucks regardless of the performance"

...and, as I implied previously, that's no small matter/barrier/issue for me to deal with either...

Edit: Do you know whether or not there's enough ROOM in the engine bay for a V8?

Yup! This is just a modified SPF MK I GT40. The chassis is the same so a big ol' honkin' V8 will still fit. This is supposed to appeal to the gen (insert X, Y, Z here) who like the look but want "modern" parts. Not entirely sure this answers any question that has been asked, but hey, if you want one, I will sell it to you!

'Will be checking the car out @ SEMA. 'Might be "veeeeery interes-tink" (as the German soldier used to say on Laugh In).

We just got back from 'Vegas/SEMA a few hours ago.

'Checked out both the V8 version of the 'Future GT Forty' that SPF had on display beside the booth they'd setup alongside the 'demonstration track' outside the 'Con. Center...and the V6 version that Magna-Flow had at its booth inside the "Center Hall"...at least as much as was possible, anyway. The 'Future' cars somehow look more 'altered' in the renderings (at least the renderings drawn from the left rear quarters) than they do in person. For instance, the 1970 Dodge Challenger-style 'belt line' visible in said renderings isn't there at all in the actual car(s).

'Separately asked to have either car's rear clamshell raised/removed/opened (whatever) so I could see how one-or-the-other (or both) was 'wired/plumbed', so to speak. (IOW, did either car look like the techs had just stood across the shop and thrown everything in...or was everything 'two blocked and squared away' in both cars?) But because of the staff's concerns regarding this or that, 'no could' make it happen...so I have no idea how much attention was paid to 'esthetics'/'detail' during either build.

Regardless, I do know now that one will have North of $250K USD in a TT V6 car before it hits the road..."esthetics"/"detail" or no "esthetics"/"detail".

Headlight buckets on the indoor (V6) one were not altered to match the current GT but they were modern LED units. Didn't notice how they were on the V8 one.

The V8 one outside sounded FANTASTIC. It also had a lift system on it, as I thought the stance looked a little awkward when in was on display in the drift lot out front. Then they backed it off the ramp and hit the button, whereupon it settled very pleasantly to a gorgeous stance.

Also was at SEMA and saw and spoke with representatives at both car locations. Cars are presented as a limited edition contemporary GT40. Priced at a very high level. Wondering if we aren't seeing the limit of pricing for a continuation/replica GT40? Also is this a case of a high tide lifting all boats.

...I cant imagine anyone wanting to buy a Gt40 with a V6 for big bucks regardless of the performance

...and yet numerous people were clawing for the opportunity to fork over well in EXCESS of $500K for the new Ford TT V6 GT.

Go 'figger'. Made no sense at all to me THEN...makes no sense at all to me NOW.
