Sounds to me like the board of supervisors did some under the table dealings with one of their friends. Good luck in finding volunteers to donate their time to enrich Mr. Narigi. Yep, probably the beginning of the end. Seeing as the county controls the property, and have allowed building homes on all the surrounding hills, how long do you think it will take for them to find a way to build on the track? Not long, me thinks.
Sooooo maybe there were actually issues with SCRAMP? I mean maybe you don't need "under the table dealings" when the track was in debt and had created enemies for years? The story is positive about Tim McGrane, maybe there is a chance John hires him or someone like him? Just because it is a change doesn't necessarily mean it will go poorly.
I say the above because what is done is done, no use claiming defeat before things get started.

The new management company has a long uphill struggle if they think they’re just going to inherit the Workers that volunteer their time to the NPO / SCRAMP....

Oh, I'm sure there were issues with SCRAMP, but I'm also sure there are issues with how the board handled this process, and how it handled LS business in the past. I've volunteered and purchased a "brick" at the corkscrew to support the track, but have no dog in this fight other than wanting to see the track survive. And I have my doubts, based primarily on the actions of this board of supervisors.
Suggest before jumping to conclusions and boohooing SCRAMP you hear the entire story. I have talked to various county staff and it is a mess how the track was managed. If the racing leagues like IMSA and MotoGP think the world works with volunteers at tracks in this day and age, somebody is smoking something. The track is old school and needs money to offer a venue beyond motorhomes and tent camping. Given the location, they could attract a world class audience, but not under SCRAMP.
