Just having a moan really I live in Central London just outside the Central charging zone to go for a drive in my GTD within the zone it would cost me £30

Hi Paul. I've been waiting to see if anyone replied to your topic. I suspect that the huge number of our American buggies that use this site are not fully aware of what an ULEZ is. In the fullness of time one can see this being introduced in Los Angeles, Etc, Etc (although probably not in Texas ..... the local Senator would probably be found face down in a ditch)!
As I'm sure you are aware there are other cities in the UK looking to introduce something similar. Bristol comes to mind.
Enjoy our freedoms whilst you can as the indications are that our days are numbered.
Me ........ I'll just move to Nevada.

I'm aware but I think you're correct Steve - it'd be hard to pass such an ordinance here in the US.

Wanna bet, Ron?
I'm surprised places such as Seattle, Portland, 'Frisco, L.A., NYC, et al, haven't adopted similar 'laws' already.
I'm dead serious.

Vancouver B.C. Ca. has what they call a transit tax, .84 cents on a CDN gallon of gasoline ( for mass transit infrastructure ) that is supposed to get people out of their cars and into public transit so you can stand next to bad breath and a smelly armpit.

What do you suppose the odds are the the money collected actually goes toward that?

To all our American friends ....... there is a lot of talk here in UK on other forums about the EPA 'raiding' companies that make performance parts. Furthermore it is being suggested that the Biden administration is going to wage war on the internal combustion engine. The doom mongers are suggesting that your days are numbered ..... just like ours. Is this just forum ranting or are you guys starting to get worried?

I am genuinely concerned, but we do have SEMA and other lobbyists to support our hobby in regard to limited exposure pollution etc..
The loons are really trying hard to force all electric on us - but that's about all we can say before the thread becomes political...

I think the days of doing any performance mods that affect emissions or fuel economy are numbered. Despite having cats, the only way to register my SL-C in MA is earn a carbon carbon credit by crushing a viable pre-emissions car. You must purchase a pre-emissions car with a displacement larger than than the new engine and insure, register and inspect it for at least one year in MA. Then take it to a salvage yard so that “The chassis, frame, body tub, and engine will be completely destroyed in a manner that prevents their reuse as motor vehicle parts” and complete the paperwork which states that there are “significant penalties, including, but not limited to, possible fines and imprisonment, for submitting false, inaccurate, incomplete or misleading information.”

I bought a 1970 Cadillac Deville with a 472ci motor. It ran great, no rust and the guys that crushed it at the salvage yard were upset and kept asking "why?" I have a couple of years to get the car registered to take advantage of the credit and the clock is ticking!

Why live in MA and put up with this stuff? It isn't East Berlin... you can live anywhere you want to.

Family, friends, schools, etc. The one thing the state got right was the two Right to Repair bills!
