My understanding is that it is because the MC is below the caliper. That would result in the fluid draining and overflowing the brake reservoir. That sounds reasonable, but the kit doesn’t include one for the clutch. I wonder if adding one to that line is a good idea.

For those that know…what LBS of a valve works best? Looks like there are at least 2lbs and 10lbs are the common ones?

According to Wilwood, 2 lb is for disk and 10 lb is for drum.

2 lb it is. DO NOT buy the cheap ones. There are several people that have documented on here with trouble with the generic Chinese ones. It’s your life and car, so don’t skimp on this part.

I have pretty much finished the brake lines. I was having some questions about routing the rear flex lines. The rear straight out of the tub bulkhead fittings are pointed just to front of the coil overs. Too close for my comfort level. A friend suggested using Adel clamps on the top of the upright as a solution. It has worked well for years.

It’s good, but I am going to try another route (pun intended). I will try using 90 degree elbow fittings at the tub exits and straight fittings at the calipers. Basically reversed. I am waiting on the parts from Amazon.

Thx much for the picture. That just seems like unnecessary risk to me. I’m out of town this weekend, but I should have the parts and time to assemble the routing using an elbow at the tub early next week.

I’m looking into the stance lift cups for my build. I see a couple of different versions for the 110 mm. Did you get the 110x40? Also did you just do the front or should I’d front and back? Thanks for your help!

I am using the 110mm cups. I am only installing them on the front. BTW, they sell a larger pump so that the tank is not required.

Sorry, I didn’t pay attention to the depth and stashed the documentation who knows where. The pump that comes with the kit requires a tank. Stance sells a larger pump. Unfortunately, I don’t know the part number, but it is quite a bit larger. This picture came from Don Pirre.

Wow, it’s been six months since my last update. I have been busy rebuilding my life. Happy to report all is well.

I expect to get back to my garage in July. I realized I have way too many irons in the fire and have been suffering from analysis paralysis. So many partially done projects.

The following are almost finished: steering, brakes, cooling, roll bar, fuel system, pedals, shifter, dash, front runner, remote oil filter, wiring harness, etc. My goal is to get to go cart by the end of this year.

Hoping my next update has some actual progress to report

Hi Randy, Glad to hear you are back at it I had some issues too and didn't work on the car for almost a year. Since then, I remodeled the garage (and added AC/heat) and started working full force on the car again. The body is mounted the latches, hinges, handles and strikes are in place and the body work is about 50% done. I'm hoping to have it done before the end of the summer.

Good to hear you are making progress. I have too many irons in the fire. I decided to sell my Cobra project to a veteran’s group and I am also going to sell my RV. I want to focus on the GT40.
