RCR40 Upper Control Arm Ball Joint (Tie Rod End) Source

David, The info is specific to RCR GT40's. I don't know the term '1946 split wishbone'

RCR40 Upper Control Arm Ball Joint (Tie Rod End) Source

Randy, The key to the search is "ES150" which is the Moog part number for the rod end. It was used on 64-66 K Series GM Pickups and 61-66 Ford 4 Wheel Drive trucks. If you search Rock Auto for that number, there are about a dozen different manufacturers. Unfortunately, none look exactly like the...

    Pictures? Air lift / StanceParts

Randy, The front shock is designed for about an 11" neutral position - it then has about 1-5/8" jounce and the same amount rebound. When you add the air cup, it uses up 20mm(.787") of the jounce, leaving less than an inch till the shock bottoms out. If you space the rod down another 3/8"-1/2"...

Help finding shock information / geometry

Dig Deep enough and long enough, you'll find it. Found the sketch in a spreadsheet that Tom (Germany/Eglitom) posted in a discussion regarding swaybar. Wheel Rate / Swaybar Calcs Paul, the 65 degrees is pretty close. Thanks for your input

Help finding shock information / geometry

I have been researching the use of the Stanceparts air lift cups and their interference with the RCR frame side. A couple days ago, I found a post that showed a graphic and dimensions of the lower control arm, its pivot points and location of the shock pivot points. From my memory, I recall it...

    Adventure RV

Chris Spent three weeks last fall exploring the same area, makes me want to go back. Very Cool video. Who was the drone pilot? There's a photographer in the family that deserves a lot of compliments Paul

    Pictures? Air lift / StanceParts

Randy, Just thinking out loud with some ideas They seem to make these work on the GT-R and SLC models. Looking at the pictures, it seems the upper shock mount spaces the pivot out a little further from the chassis than as is used on the GT40. If you go too far, you run into interference with...

    Pictures? Air lift / StanceParts

Randy You might check for interference with the upright. Neil reported he couldn't get it to work. Don't know what the issue wasyou If you can, post a picture of it mounted on the bottom. Maybe a shield to deflect stuff going to the cavity? Paul

    BOSS 302 Block Bracket/Boss?

Doug, is this the bracket you're referring to If so, it bolts to the head of the Boss302. The boss on the block appears to be the mount for the smog pump. Hard to find pictures on that but I've seen a couple showing the pump in that location and it appears to be mounted to the boss in question.

    Streetable Eight Stack

Randy, You do understand, Want and Need are both four-letter words and completely interchangeable. :)inj There are a couple differences in the EightStack and the TBI. The EightStack, the injectors are inside the castings that replicate the body of a Weber 48IDA. The injectors are situated above...

    RCR40 Fuel Cell Foam

In a recent conversation with Chuck S on this, I learned he had followed the suggestion of adding the foam blocks to his RCR tanks. The results were 'less than stellar'. He said it doesn't stop the fuel slosh. Maybe he'll chime in and add his experience. I am considering adding baffles to...

    Exhaust coating inside

Worked very well. I used the cotton ball method to put it in. I made an extension for a sandblaster to do the tubes. The longest one was 28" so I was able to get in from both ends. They make a tool that you can drag through to blast and I also see some comments about pulling a wire brush through...

    Exhaust coating inside

Randy I used ZyBar to coat my last set of Cobra headers, inside and out. These are links to the site: Zybar Instructions The instructions outline the procedure for coating the insides. Very pleased with the product, however, it is not cheap. They also have a service that they will do the coating...

    "GT and Sports Car Project"

Is this the same as the SAE papers? They were gathered by Roy Lunn and are made up of about 121 pages. Various copies of the PDF have circulated and are probably available somewhere on this forum Paul

    Pictures? Air lift / StanceParts

Neal Stanceparts also offers 110mm cups. Did you raise this question to them when you made your initial purchase or when you ran into issues? The ones that I have seen on a SLC did install the shocks with the rod down and the cups on the bottom/upright end. Paul

    Pictures? Air lift / StanceParts

Does anyone have pictures of the front coil-overs with the StanceParts AirLift installed on an RCR GT40? I am told by some they don't fit, I am told by others they have them and they work fine. Don't know if it may have been a singular build issue or if the builders had to make modifications to...

    BOSS 302 Block Bracket/Boss?

David, Thanks for the pictures, nice motor. Haven't had much luck in finding the purpose of the boss. I think it is probably smog-related but not sure. I've learned some of the supercharger companies use it to mount their brackets but can't find any Ford brackets that are associated with the...

    BOSS 302 Block Bracket/Boss?

Not even close - it is on the passenger front side of the block. Exactly opposite of the clutch linkage area

    BOSS 302 Block Bracket/Boss?

On the face of the Ford BOSS302 block is a 3/8-16 boss, located on the passenger side, below the cylinder head. Most all alternator mounts I've seen use the holes in the head to mount the alternator/bracketry. Any tips on what this boss was used for so I can search out the bracketry associated...
