Doug, I do not think that I will be on the road by then but I would like to find out more about the rally. Is there a website that I could go to? Lee, Update just for you. :) Installed the a/c unit: I used a piece of 1/4" plywood and glued a sheet of .0625 aluminum to both sides to make a...

    Work table

I'm not sure about the green lift but I have the blue lift shown above and the center post between the cylinders has detentes in it which provide a mechanical lock. I would assume that the green one has a similar locking mechanism.

Lee, Tru, Jason, Thank you. Insulated the front half of the tub and installed the pedal box and steering shaft. I insulated the complete front end to ensure that the air conditioner does not have to work any harder than necessary. A cool car is important to me. I ran my GTD 40 on the...

Installed the suspension and brakes with the exception of a couple of bolts and spacers that are needed for the transaxle mount and emergency brakes. I will corner weigh and make final adjustments to the suspension when the car is completed.

Trularin, Either one done correctly will work fine. I ruled out powder coating because of the added cost. Many on this form are having good results with spray on bed liner as well. The main issue with spray on bed liner is that the texture is fairly rough. This can be minimized by omitting the...

    Rick's RCR GT40

Lee, Thanks Randy, I used a 6" smooth foam roller about 1.5" in diameter. It worked very well. If using POR15 the first coat should be a light coat. Let it dry for about 4 hours then apply a heavier coat (second coat must be applied within 6 hours or you will have to sand it again). I applied...

Oct 14, Arrived home in a U-Haul with the GT40 safe and secure. On Oct 12 I totaled my wife's 4 week old Tahoe when a Highway repair truck was stopped in the fast lane (until I was about to go by in the slow lane) then backed into my lane ripping the Tahoe open like a tin can! I was lucky to...

Pete, Thanks, Hopefully I will be able to add to the great wealth of information on this site. Many of the builds are outstanding, the bar has been raised since I built my GTD in '95. Gus, Thanks, The Z was a departure for me since I usually restore cars to their original condition but the Z...

    Rick's RCR GT40

I sold my GTD GT40 in 2005 because I wanted to retire in Mexico. That retirement was short lived since my wife was not happy living in Mexico. I returned to Houston where I am the director of maintenance for UTLX Manufacturing. Of all the cars that I have had I regret selling my GT40 so...

    Starter motor advice

That starter is recommended for motors with 10:1 (max) compression and EFI. Your starter motor is lighter duty than other models offered by Powermaster. Ensure that your power cable and ground are in good condition and sized correctly as this can affect starter motor performance. FYI 10 ohms of...

    Was Fox News Right....

Simple answer... Damn right! I am old enough to remember when reporters actually reported the news as it happened. Today MOST of the networks only report news that fits their narrative. Most networks only show news clips that are approved by the left as fitting their narrative. When I...
