Coolant temperature sensor position - fan operation

Simple question but I am doubting myself. Where to position the coolant temperature sensor to operate the radiator cooling fans in our mid engined cars with the radiator at the front of the car? I plan to put the temperature gauge sensor for the dashboard gauge in the swirl pot where the water...

    Suggestions for storing body clips

I made a stand on castors (with brakes) for the rear clip of my project as below. I made the lower part with a curve to fit the shape of the clip and padded it with sponge rubber. You unscrew the wood block in the center of the support to release the tail. It works well. Position the stand...

Purging air from remote oil filter and cooler

I understand that is good practice to position the oil cooler with the connections upwards so that oil cannot drain from it back to the sump when the engine stops.

Doug’s RCR Jaguar D Type Build.

Too late now, but could you not have tapped the holes in to the hub, rather than a through hole and a nut on the back? You could get 2 C shaped pieces of 8 mm ally laser cut and tap those though.

Tips for a noob MIG welder

To aid in seeing the weld puddle I find a magnifying lens in the helmet helps a lot, they are available from welding supply stores. Also a portable lamp you can position so it shines on the work will make it easier to see the weld pool. Adjust the welding helmet darkness level to that...
