Rivnuts or nutserts for windows / headlight covers etc...

They would also do the job Andrew, but they are likely to crack the fibreglass/paint locally when fitted Rgds, Andy

Rivnuts or nutserts for windows / headlight covers etc...

Hi Andrew, I used M3 aluminum riv-nuts, but super-glued them in. As the screws aren't going to be that tight, this is fine and if it does come loose, it's easy to remove as the body of the riv-nut has not been distorted Regards, Andy

    Sound deadening or not?

Hi Daniel, It depends what you want out of the finished car. If you want a raw seat-of-pants racer, then no sound proofing, however if you want it for long distance cruising, taking the wife out then add it to the build. 15kg isn’t excessive when the car will weight around 1000kg and the...

OBP 47PRT floor mount throttle pedal HELP

Hi, not exactly the same part number, bit one of OBP's pedal boxes, I added a few brackets, which allowed the cable to be coming in from the rear. As you've found out, nothing on-line, so figured it out from first principles Regards, Andy

    SouthernGT No6

Hi Nick, nice to hear you're progressing to de-bug your '40. I've similar issues with inlet manifold gaskets. Generally the gaskets for the head to manifold are Ok, but the cork gasket between the head & cyl block is too thick, preventing the other gaskets to clamp correctly. Solution is to thin...

    Renault UN1 output shaft issue

Hi Paul, looking at the videos, you shouldn't have any movement there and it looks like diff bearings are lacking the correct amount of pre-load. Personally I'd have the gearbox out & stripped to minimise any further damage Regards, Andy

Southern GT Chassis #54 Build - The What Have I Done Chronicles!!

Hi Shaun, I've just checked on a UN-1 that has just come back from Chris Cole for a refresh and there's zero play in the cross shaft. Looks like you may have to get the housing bushed or a larger shaft machined up Regards, Andy
