    Mitch Krause's RCR GT40 Build

I think this counts. Alternator problem late, ran out of juice before getting back to the garage. Boy it is a much tighter fit than I thought, especially without any rear view mirrors to help out. Link is

Registration / VIN / Title in Minnesota

Yep, it is an RCR. Didn't have a VIN at least that I know of. I do have the blank RCR VIN plate. Yeah, I am in trouble now though as following the process, I will have to wait for the state to issue the blue VIN (in theory), and my insurance agent can't seem to figure out a way to insure it...

Rear Clip Hold Downs. Hard to show this in pictures, but maybe the explanation helps someone someday, and maybe I will post pictures that help out at some point. I built two braces that are at right angles that mount on the firewall, these hold the pins that will protrude through the top of...

Registration / VIN / Title in Minnesota

OK, will pass along what I have learned so far. Went to the DMV yesterday to start the process. Pay them a bunch of money and I have the plates already. They spent a lot of time looking up what they had to do for a kit car, and finally found something. Seems like it will be titled with the...

    Dwight's RCR GT 40

Dwight, I have the same one, I am pretty sure you have it correct. I do know / recall that you need 12V on the pos for it to work, there was some words in the documentation that initially led one to believe maybe not, but it is needed. The send goes to the gauge, and Neg is ground.

Primer / Paint Blistering Need Help

Have not tried etch primer, was thinking that I might have to try some acetone and a few wipes next time, so that is good confirmation of maybe trying that.

Primer / Paint Blistering Need Help

Hello, Many searches and web advice and nothing seems to make sense. I have primed or painted this same area at least three times, with sanding and removing material in the middle of those as well as wiping down with pre-paint prep and I get the same thing happening in the same place every...

Lessons Learned in Bundles of Snake Charming. So you test fit your headers a few different times over the many past months when working out clearances and lines and everything. Each time you bolt them up snug with an appropriate bolt and everything goes fine. Then you are ready to install for...

    Mitch Krause's RCR GT40 Build

One slight change on the oil nozzles. Had not quite finished when I posted before. Decided to use oil resistant black RTV on thread instead of loctite. Can’t quite figure out if loctite is ok for nylon or not.

    Axle bolt Sizes?

Ok. My situation is good now. Sent the stub axles back to RCR and got new ones (with bolts that turn into them). Fran said they are 10mm by 1.25. The Porsche end is 10mm by 1.5 as Dwight said. So now I have the right bolts for both ends and the right threads for the bolts to turn into. Maybe...
