    LBC Build Log - Apex

Seems like I can barely get an hour or more to work on this thing at a time (only to get worse when the baby is born) anyway... tacking progress... You can see how much was needed to be cut off from top of picture just to get the seat somewhat centered. That's the big issue with after...

Here's my solution for the horn. The eclipse uses a clock spring. It doesn't fit behind the hubs for mounting aftermarket steering wheels, like the Sparco one I'm using. I'm also using an NRG quick release. Between the Sparco hub and quick release, there are extra metal rings for your...

    Mark's GT-R Build

FYI https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Volumetric_efficiency To clarify, I don't remember which ECU you were running but you should easily be able to see what VE you are running vs target. Then disconnect that intake and see what you get. If closer to target perhaps it was tuned with the...

    Mark's GT-R Build

With dual intake/TB I thought these were generally MAP. Otherwise you need a way to combine MAF output (or double one...not best idea) like with something like this Selin Design - 2nd Gen Dual Mass Air Translator (Z32) I'm still learning some of this stuff, but perhaps when everything is...

    LBC Build Log - Apex

Thanks. I was going to do the CTS-V route but the truck alternators seemed so much cheaper for a comparable amperage (and didn't realize at the time about the third bolt when I bought them). I hadn't heard of any issues with the two bolts units so I just went for it. I'll give it a good tug...

    LBC Build Log - Apex

I looked online at Kirkeys but wasn't ever able to sit in them. I tried to sit in as many as possible but its somewhat difficult to find places that stock the seats that you can sit in. I also looked online at the Tillett B6f and like those for fitment as well, but also couldn't sit in them...

    LBC Build Log - Apex

I put my seats in today to see the fit. It wasn't good. The seats I got were Cobra Imola GT's which aren't too wide at 21.5 at the outside of the seat base and 23.5 at the outside of the shoulder bolsters. But I'm going to return the GT's for the standard Imola's which are 19 and 22.5...

    Shift cable grommet for bulkhead

Did a little searching around and not finding anything specific or of great quality but I think I've seen some on this site. Do you guys have any suggestions/solutions for grommets for shift cables through the bulkhead?

    LBC Build Log - Apex

I decided to go with an ICT Billet bracket. Part number for the C5 accessory is 551667-1. Can be had for 53.50 on Jet.com and uses same camaro/truck alternator as RCR setup (GM 8247 I think) I bought Alternator part 88877278 from Amazon. ICT Billet Bracket This way I can use my existing...

    LBC Build Log - Apex

I mounted my accessory drive today to take some measurements and no good news. The C5 corvette alternator & bracket aren't going to work. I might have a few other choices, but I'm not 100% clear on whether they work with an LS1. Please chime in if you know. BTW my settup is WP and ALT only (no...

Heres a pic of the engine back together. Put the holes in the dash and got it back in. Also cut holes in the bulkhead for the rollcage and got it back in. Next will be making brackets for the Seat Harness so we can button up the bulkhead. Hopefully the cross bar on the rear...

    Battery Drain Protection

I decided to just spend the extra $ and get the inreserve because of this (originally I wanted to go aftermarket on principal just because I also think this should be included as it is basically a necessary component of ISIS). However I'm also adding an Anderson connection to my battery...

    PTV clearance on engine rebuild

Thanks for the help. Spoke also to Advanced Induction who did the CNC work on my heads. I decided to stick with the current setup. @ .070" PTV .04" cometic gasket .04" Preload 7.503" 11/32 .120 series 5 Manton pushrods Hopefully that leaves .002" if the the lifter is fully pumped up. But...

    PTV clearance on engine rebuild

Yes its a hydraulic cam on a ls1. The preload I was planing was on the low side of the range of whats recommended for the lifters at @.04-.045. With that preload and stock rocker ratio of 1.7, if the lifters get pumped up or valve float it could easily eat up that PTV. I guess I should...

    PTV clearance on engine rebuild

So based on my calculations I thought I would be close to .09 clearance with my current setup. I installed .04 cometic gaskets for improved quench and I've tested two cylinders and got about .06 PTV clearance with checker springs on the intake side. I've heard that due to using weaker check...

    LS and Transaxle mating guide?

Anything helps...Thanks. I think both my adapter plate and flywheel came from RCR. Whats funny is I actually looked through that linked thread of yours and realized how much I didn't know about mating the gearbox and is in part why I posted this.

    LS and Transaxle mating guide?

I thought rebuilding the LS would be a snap, but there's always little things that slow you down (when you're not a pro). I'm getting close to mating my G96 transaxle, but not having done it before, I don't have a lot of confidence that it will be a breeze. I realize there's tons of...
