I am pulling the engine tomorrow so I can install the new 347. I assume I need to pull the transaxle also? Is there a sequence that is better tan another? thanks chuck

I would just have to think that if it were a balance problem it would not smooth out at higher RPM. If the wrong balancer is on, again I would think the engine would shake very badly at all RPM, although I suppose if the flywheel is very slightly out of balance or some other component is then...

mine also does this, I can get it out of reverse with a little shifting around, however Olthoff says it is a detent spring or something like that. It is now being repaired at ZBT

I was afraid of that. I will probably stick with a 302 based motor then to avoid all the incidental changes that will crop up and add to the expense.

never a problem with mine and I negotiate speed bumps daily around here. steep ramps are more of an issue with the long front overhang

torque steer is a product of front wheel drive. As far as the motor, I doubt you are anywhere close to 700 hp. My roush 427 makes 530 or so and it is a beast, to get 700 hp out of a stroked 351 and get it to idle at all seems unlikely especially with webers that do not like big cams. I do agree...

my stock fans have never let me down even in the hot south. I think it is unlikel you can come up with a suitable tranny for several months if not longer
