    GT40 vs 2020 Corvette

Ah the Pantera bashing begins.... the ZF is common to both the GT40 and Pantera, as such so is the second gear syncro wear! Personally I am fortunate enough to have a late model Pantera GT5, the ERA GT40 and an Ultima CanAm. The Ultima is the ultimate street legal track weapon, the GT40 one of...

    Avon CR6ZZ. age of tire

I'm not familiar with CR6ZZ specifically, but the date code is often only on one side of the tire so you may also have to check the inner tire wall as well. Bear in mind that the Avon CR6ZZ are a stickier race tire compound that will deteriorate quicker than your normal road tire as they lose...

    CV Boots

I can't find any useful dimensional information on that Hardy Spicer part number. The 930 is a 108mm diameter with 94mm bolt circle or a Type 1 CV is 94mm diameter with 78mm bolt circle. The following may be of help in determining which type CV joint you have...

    CV Boots

It should be a 930 style CV, I use the aero boots and haven't had one fail since switching away from the concertina style. Some prior discussion can be found here; https://www.gt40s.com/threads/help-with-930-cv-joint-boots.37215/

    '66 KVA GT40 - CKRockett

I owned a KVA prior to my ERA, it was a tubular space frame chassis so not sure how anyone considers that a 'continuation', to my mind it would have to be a monocoque at least loosely based on original design and partly the reason I now have an ERA!

Welcome Carl, I'm down the hill in Reno, but know a few of the gearheads up in Virginia City.

    CR6ZZ tires in Canada

A Pantera owner I know takes a weekend drive across the border and comes back with new tires....

Agreed upon value for SPF MK1 Cars

Apologies and I stand corrected, I should have looked up the reference quoted. I had not realized the SPF cars were now commanding such high prices, good for all makes.

Agreed upon value for SPF MK1 Cars

That's for a new one though, not 10 years old and I appreciate that may be the route one has to go to replicate a total loss, but insurers don't work like that. I had to search around and find actual sales data for ERA's (advertised price was unacceptable), but with a low volume market that is...

2020 RBT ZF transaxle power/torque ability?

It would be worth qualifying whether your experience is with running u-joint half shafts or CV axles?

    Tyre options

I might have to reconsider the Avon's looking at the photos. I hadn't previously put them in the mix as Avon quote the max rim width at 10.5" which seemed a real stretch, how are they wearing and what tire pressures are you running?

    LED headlights

Each company is going to portray their competitive edge, some of that may be real, some may be pure marketing hype. Personally I tend to put more credence to side by side independent reviews and a quick search shows the Diode Dynamics products have some great reviews. As for LED's in general, I...

Purchasing from Summit and shipping to the UK

I am in Reno, NV and have easy access to the Sparks NV store front, I have shipped small stuff to folks overseas in the past and willing to do so if it works out favorable cost wise. Just factor in that a local purchase incurs state tax at 8.3%. The smaller stuff you can usually get away with...

Anyone Ever Make A Gt40 Firewall Bump?

That looks similar to the intrusion a Cleveland makes into a Pantera cabin, I have spare engine cover somewhere and can measure dimensions to see if it would make a good starting point. You'd need some flat infill panels to each side as it's almost square as I recall.

WTB: Small Block Ford 8 Stack Fuel Injection

I thought most of the 8 stack EFI systems used an IDA or IDF pattern and you just needed to source the manifold, of which there are plenty? The only one that's a bit harder to find is for a Cleveland, but readily available from Aussie Speed. In re-reading the post I assume by airbox, you are...

WTB: Small Block Ford 8 Stack Fuel Injection

Jim Inglese builds an EFI based Weber type system and Borla offers one as well if you want an alternative. Dynatek brought a Classic Weber system to market about 10 years ago, but the rights got sold I think, not sure where that ended up.

Tell me why i should or shouldn’t buy this GT40...

I would agree that $129K seems high for this Active Power, that said it's an asking price and may be very negotiable. For comparison an SPF sold a week or so ago on on BaT for $135K. I do think the Ford v Ferrari movie has brought new buyers to the table, with a number of cars reported selling...
