Selling Car - U.K to Slovakia

Nice one Keith! In my naivety, I thought one could bring any amount of cash in. Although, when I went to Le Mans in the 60's there was a limit as to how much you could take out - I seem to remember it was VERY little. The sale progresses, and I think that the payment will be a SWIFT...

Selling Car - U.K to Slovakia

Thanks for your advice. I have just been e-mailed a draft Letter of Credit, but my Barclays Bank don't seem to trust Letters of Credit. I have spoken to the buyer in Slovakia, and it all seems to be above board. It's just that I can't risk anything going wrong!

    Clutch Slipping

Hi, Just ten days before setting off to the LMC, I discovered I have massive clutch slip, particularly in 5th gear. I checked thast there was free play on the slave cylinder pushrod, and it was free. I've pulled out the transaxle, and other than an oily bellhouising, there appears to be...

    Happy 45th Anniversary to GT40

A timely reminder. I've just realised therefore that it must be 45 years since my last visit to Le Mans in 1967.............and I'm driving to the Classic in my own GT40 45 years later. I would never thought it at the time! Driving the car down to the Bolton Le Mans Motorsport Festival...

    EBC Bluestuff Pads - Comments?

Hi Everybody, I'm just about to get back on the road after a long rebuild. When I last drove the car, it had twin servos and Redstuff pads with HiSpec Billet 4 front calipers. In the rebuild, I removed both servos, and now the Redstuff pads now seem very 'wooden' withouit the servos...

Use of Poly-bushes in a Tornado, GT-Forte, GTD etc.

Thanks, Andy. Another problem solved. When I bought the car, there was no fore and aft location on the bushes for the wishbones. I have trimmed the bushes to length to suit the mounting eye width, and temporarily spaced everything with washers, prior to alignment checks. Thanks...

Use of Poly-bushes in a Tornado, GT-Forte, GTD etc.

Hi Andy, An interesting thread. On the front wishbones, I've got a rubber bush which appears to be bonded to the inner steel tube. Should the wishbone pivot on the bush, or should the bush and tube pivot on the mounting bolt? I've got to make up steel spacers, to locate the wishbone...

    Ride height measurement

I'm slowly getting there! I've reached the stage where I'm about to buy new springs and dampers. I'm trying to determine the ride height - I'm thinking 5" front and 5 1/2" rear. However, I've got a dropped floor. Should the rear ride height be taken from the dropped floor or from the...

    Remote clutch bleed nipple assembly

Hello Eddie, Thanks for your Posts. I've measured very carefully, and the bleed nipple measures 6.86mmOD, with a 1 pitch. Presumably, this equates to 7mm x 1. Does this make sense? Cheers, Geoff.

    Remote clutch bleed nipple assembly

Hi, Has anybody made up a remote bleed nipple assembly for the Renault clutch slave cylinder? If you have any part numbers of unions, etc, I'd be interested to hear from you. I know what I want, but I'm struggling for a union to fit the cylinder. I've carried out a search, but can't...

    Clutch Pedal Travel?

Thanks everybody again. Would methylated spirits be alcohol? The thought of putting meths through the system worries me! We have flushed through twice with 'normal' brake fluid. Cheers, Geoff.
