    1149 Mono Replica

Short update: this winter's project was, first, to fit a set of Webers to my Kirkham Cobra. I bought the Weber kit from Steve at Top End Performance in CA- we installed it, the engine fired up immediately, minimal adjustments if any at all. The guy really knows his stuff, seriously. I have the...

    Very cool GT40/Cobra tool

My car is a Safir GT40. I think he only makes the GT40/Cobra tool in one size. I have a Kirkham Motorsports Cobra and I tried the knockoff spinner tool on both the GT40 and the Cobra, it fit perfectly on both. He also makes one for a Series 1 E-type, and since I have one of those cars as well, I...

    Very cool GT40/Cobra tool

Since I'm not keen on beating on alloy knockoff spinners with a hammer, even a rawhide or lead one, I searched online for tools to help remove knockoff spinners. Initially I thought I would make one from hardwood plywood, like the one Moss Motors sells for E-type Jaguars, but a Google search...

    BILL WONDER, RIP

I met Bill Wonder several years back, in PA- I had the pleasure of driving up and spending the day there, listening to anecdotes about cars and racing. He raced 103 at Daytona several times; his codriver was Ray Caldwell, I believe. Bill said that 103 was so stable on the Daytona banking that he...

Exactly. Those are indeed the ones.

Small stainless mesh grilles in side scoops

Some photos of early GT40s, especially road cars, show stainless mesh grilles set into the side scoops in the rear clip/bodywork. Has anyone seen a set of these for sale anywhere? If possible, I would like to have them for my car. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

With the current overheated market in collector cars, it might surprise all of us. You never know.

    engine and foundry decals

I think 107 and its contemporaries all had GW heads, etc. I decided no EF decals. I did find the ones that are on the breather caps in the photo above. Change the oil every 6000 miles. In other words, more or less you can run two LeMans 24h races before you change the oil, LOL. If any of it's...

    engine and foundry decals

Ah, yes. How about that.... I am going to assume that none of the small block engines had E/F decals on the valve covers. At least I can't find any photos of any valve covers on SBF engines with E/F decals. If anyone knows more on this (because I know very little) please enlighten me. Thank you...

    engine and foundry decals

Oh, I beg your pardon. Totally my mistake. It's painful to be so ignorant after all these years as a Ford fan.

    engine and foundry decals

Does anyone know which engine decals would have been appropriate for a 1968 SBF 302 in a GT40 Mark I? I've seen photos of BBF engines with oval stickers on the valve covers identifying the engine as built by Ford E&F. Does anyone know if there were similar stickers of any kind for SBF engines? I...

    dash and instrument photos

Thanks to all!! We did get the dash labeled, it looks suitable homemade and period-correct. Photos will follow- car also now has four appropriately sized tires on it, improving its stance considerably. Now I am just praying for nice weather on June 6th, fingers crossed.

Thanks to all for help- every one of these cars has its own dash layout. They are somewhat similar, but no two identical.

Amazing that after all these years, Dymo label makers still exist and you can still get the label tape for them. Incredible.
