"cut out the affected areas and replace" It will be wise to remove all MDF . The guys doing boat building also encapsulate all wood 100%. The purpose is to prevent any moisture reaching the wood. Z.C.

    Project under wraps -- W125

I have finished the wooden buck and is about to start with the aluminum work. . . But before I start with the ali, I have to somehow create extra space in the workshop. This will probably take a wee bit of time. Z.C.

    Sexiest Canam Ever?

Hi Leon, sorry I can't answer your question. I just like the pics in post #19 , copied here. I am also thinking about a certain member ( an Aussie ) whose wish it is to build a PEE FOUR. A tremendous amount of time is saved if the car is built without a roof , like in the pics...

    Project under wraps -- W125

Jim looking at those pics of yours ( post # 154 page 8 from your build thread ) I can see that your wife has good grounds to call you as she does. Yes, Molleur how could we build without clamps and battens ?? Well I can't. Leon, only hand tools for the wood work, hole saw, a lot of jig...

    Project under wraps -- W125

Hi guys , thank you for showing support with this project. The tail buck took a lot of time, glue and patience. Those holes in the stations gives easy access to the clamps and line of sight. The grey steel ( red arrows) is temporarily to align the left with the right hand. Started...

    Project under wraps -- W125

Molleur , thank you for the encouragement. Now that the leaf springs are out of the way I am trying to get a more accurate look of the wings at the rear. The right hand buck is taking shape , though not glued yet. Z.C.

Happy New years to all. Mr. Bahco Saw came over for a visit to Miss. Wooden Buck. He gave her some of his attention and consequently left her with a gaping hole. Now she fits correctly once again. Z.C.

    Project under wraps -- W125

Jack well spotted, the critical holes that got reamed later on were only small pilot drilled before bending. Terry, thank you for the kind words. I have a rolling chassis again, however the wooden buck needs a bit of attention now, since the new steel brackets are in the way. The...

    Project under wraps -- W125

To be able for the body work to look more authentic at the rear halve , I cut off the existing leaf springs. Now installing torsion bars at the rear similar to the original. For the brackets mounting the torsion bars and Panhard rod I had a few parts lazer cut. What a...

Race car body area ruling (Whitcomb Rule)

Please allow me to expand a wee bit outside the initial request Scott. If the mods feel this is extra "noise" and a waste of band width then please delete this post. The first pic shows how this "area rule " theory was applied to a jet aircraft, while the second explains how the...
