Gentelmen, I have been browsing the site for a few weeks now and have a general question about performance of these replicas.
It looks as if 500 to 550 is about max for the drive trains that are available for the cars. Based on this hp package, has any testing been done of 0 to 60 and 0 to 100 times? Stopping, turning, skidd pad?
I am very curious how these cars stack up aginst one of todays super cars.
I recently sold a supercharged z06 because of smog and engineering issues. (Couldn't keep tires on it, and accelerating in a turn could be very nasty).
I wish my next car to work well across the board and be unique. A GT40 replica seems like a good option. Plus I have always been in love with the car.

Hi Steve

if you use the search facility, you'll find a number of posted figures here and there....

We have recorded 0 to 60 in 3.7s and 0 to 100 in 7.6s, run was slightly up hill initially, (Longleat hill climb) and to be fair, we were on AVON Slicks (11.0/25-15).

On road tyres, you'll always break traction before you know it so acceleration is more difficult. - That said - we have still recorded sub 5s on 275 width Pirelli P7s (not a very good tyre really).

Cornering, we can achieve about 1.1/1.2G peak and have recorded a peak of 1G on acceleration - can't remember the braking figure and all of the above were on slicks.

Finally - when posting - try to include a hint as to the nature of the posting, eg "GT40 Performance Figures?" so others will know what your post is about, plus it will make it easier to find when using the search engine...

There is a huge range of capability among GT40 replicas
since the choices of components range from
minimal to all out racing. And of course the execution
of the package ranges from barely safe to world class,
depending on who's turning the wrenches.

However all else equal, I suspect the reduced weight and lower CG of GT40's make them capable of matching/surpassing
anything sold today....just a matter of determining your benchmarks, and applying the appropriate effort,
intelligence, and money.

A Enzo weights 3100 pounds and has 650HP for a power to weight ratio of 4.7 to 1 so a GT40 at 2400, thats about right, would need about 500 hp. Put on big sticky tires and a set of serious brakes and you can out perform a enzo for about one sixth the cost.

Simple really.

Which kit, (roller) how much motor and trans. After reading most of the tech stuff on transmissions I have setteled on the ZFT44AAUDI50.
