I have an original 1967 427 side oiler in excellent condition. This is the real thing. The engine was disassembled and stored for the last 38 years. The block is in perfect condition with the standard bore it still has the original cross hatch marks. It has the screw in soft water plugs with solid lifters and cross bolted mains. I have the rods, pistons, original cobra valve covers, complete heads, cam, valve train, and a Tecalemit Jackson Fuel Injection. The only thing I don't have is the crank. Contact for more details.

Ryan,

Are you selling this, or just testing the market for bragging rights? If you are selling it, you may get a better response if you post the asking price.

The engine is for sale, I just added that to the heading I left that part out. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

It means DONATE. You have only made six posts, and they are all about something you want to sell. When your parts are gone, you probably will be also. Where else can you get a captive audience like this. If it sells DONATE to the site for the privilege of its use. It is only fair to Ron.
Regards Brian

I only have six posts because I just joined an hour ago genius. Don't you think the person that buys what I'm selling is going to be a satisfied member and happy with the site and my post if I improve his pride and joy. If I have what the buyer has been searching for won't he be more pleased and willing to return to Ron's site and be a life long supporter.

The point is it only requires a single post. Not several separate threads and posts., which equals spamming. If I had a sideoiler for sale (have one on an engine stand now), I would post a single thread with an asking price and some pictures. Done deal.

Hi Ryan -

I've moved this thread to the 'parts for sale section' as anyone interested will look here.

Also, whilst membership of the forum is free, it does rely upon sponsorship from supporting vendors and dontations from members to exist. I accept that you might 'make someones day' by selling them exactly what they are looking for, but equally, you have in front of you an extensive audience of people that are positively interested in all things GT40 related. A token contribution would most likely have gotten a more friendly initial response.

I hope you enjoy the Forum.

Only six posts in an hour might be a record on GT40s.com. At GT40s.com we aim to keep a high signal to noise ratio. And to do that we encourage members to make sure that posts are placed in the proper forum. I'll delete your other For Sale post from the Engines technical forum.

Ryan, I currently have $7.50. $10.00 if I send one of my kids to school without lunch money. Let me know if that is enough. If not, kindly POST the asking price and identify the heads. Thanks

I visit this site every day for my 40' fix. Post like Ryan's are very annoying.

Ryan, ever heard of eBay? It's this really cool site where you can sell stuff, WAY DUDE! (unless your feedback score is in the toilet, then you might need to try sites like this - nobody knows you, perfect).:pepper:

I suspect Ryan has posted this ad on several forums in the hopes of getting the best deal without having to pay fees to eBay.

Hi Ron, When I first found GT40S.COM I was not aware of the different types of forums. As I learned about the website I discovered the proper place to list the item. Thanks for moving it for me. I am amazed at how unwelcoming your members are I am still brand new to the website and was not aware that members would judge you based on whether you've made a donation or not. I have been driving race cars for 24 years and have always been a fan of the GT40 and it's history. I was enjoying your website until the members gave me this nice warm welcome.

Hi Ryan,

I don't speak for the entire membership here at GT40s.com. However, generally when folks join forums an introduction post as a first post goes a long way to making new friends instead of a "for sale post".

We have a forum for new members to introduce themselves located at the top of the page from the main forum view. If you have a look around in that forum you'll find a thread about the Forum Rules. They might be worth a read too.

Best,
Ron

I was hoping to speak with some kind folks that would inform me on what a good asking price would be. The heads are J's.

:confused:WOW! So far you've done most things you could do wrong to start on a new forum. Do you get these types of comments other places you frequent? I can honestly say I've not seen this bad a response to a newcomer before, you might look in the mirror and ask what's wrong with this picture? And still no asking price? Why do people do this?

J's are not enough info. Honesty is always the best policy. Perhaps it would have been better to state that your friend has these parts, does not know the current market value and is looking for assistance in what everything is worth as he/she intends to sell them. Now with that said, is there any contact info for your "friend"?
