2015 Coyote Motor Mount Bolt Size

Does anyone know what size bolts you need to bolt the motor mounts to the block?

I’ve been looking everywhere and can’t find any info..

Much appreciated!

Steve

If you don’t know the bolt sizes, that’s ok. I do have a question tho.

The M10 starts for a turn or two and gets very tight. I guess if I keep tightening it, it would POSSIBLY work, but I’ve broken too many bolts to force a bolt in a thread.

So I picked up some M8’s in hopes that they would fit perfectly.

But no...they are WAY too small.

My thoughts are to put the mount on and try to tighten and not break anything.

Thoughts???

M10 can have two thread pitches: 1.5 and 1.25. Into iron or aluminum, the 1.5 pitch is much more likely. If your bolt is 10 x 1.5 and it doesn't go, you might have to use a bottoming/chasing tap to clean the hole.

Thanks Bob.

I tried an SAE 5/16 bolt and it actually fit.

So one of two things happened here.

1) the M10 bolt I bought is a 1.25 and it needs the 1.5 thread OR...

2) someone tapped out the M10 metric thread for a SAE.

I can’t for the life of me understand why anyone would tap a 2015 motor so I’m going to go buy a M10 with a 1.5 pitch and see if that works.

I’ll let you know if that works

I'm surprised you could come up with a M10 bolt in fine thread. The last holdouts for that were the Japanese, and I think they went to the European standard some time ago.
