Adjustable front suspension height

Has anyone found or utilised adjustable front dampers to raise the front of a 40 for crossing the gutter into a garage or similar? I mean a short term lift of say 50mm, using an on-board air system, such as some road Ferraris and Mercedes use. Could be extremely useful if using the 40 as a regular driver or if you have a difficult driveway.

Nice solution to a problem I will have to deal with as my drive will cause the nose to ground.
Did you make the adjuster to sell as mentioned in the link? if so how much? if not can you help me with a few construction details.

Simon,

Thanks for posting your solution. This sounds ideal as proprietary funny car air springs are not up to the springing/damping quality that a 40 needs. And it is near impossible to install a passive air spring in parrallel with the main coil over unit, such that it only comes into play when pumped with air to raise the front (impossible due to space restrictions in the suspension). With the long front overhang, even one inch would make quite a difference. Ideally two would be good, but no good if the spring is then too short and stiff to handle bumps at high speed.

The air pumps, switches, even air tanks, are readily available here (Sydney, Australia), but is the spacer "piston" unit something you fabricated up?

Simon,

If you could send me info on your system, I'd appreciate it. My adjusters are almost out of threads, so I have more than enough room for the lifters under the springs and the extra inch of clearance would make the difference between the nose rubbing on my driveway and clearing.

Thanks,
Lynn
