Another tyre/tire to choose from?

I just stumbled across a post on a Cobra forum, talking about the new Toyo TQ, just released. It seems that although they're only available in 16 or 17 inch, there are quiet plans to produce some 15 inch choices (they say this could be later in the year).

Does anyone know if it's any good? It could appeal to anyone that finds the Avons pricey, and especially those here in the UK who can't risk a non-DOT tyre (Hoosier, Mickey Thompson) on the road..

When I eventually get back on the road, I'll buy them if they work (can't be any worse than my ancient BFG's! :sick2:) .

From the description on the Toyo website, it sounds like a disaster for a GT40. This is a dedicated drag racing tire, which is designed to have a squishy sidewall to allow for max deformation during hard launches. Great for the elapsed time in the quarter mile, but terrible for going around corners.

So near, and yet so far...
