Anyone know much about Granada rear hubs?

I need bearings for these but I'm not sure what year Granada to order for. In fact, I am having a very hard time finding anything for a Granada after about 1982. Not sure if the various years were the same or not.

Anyway, anyone care to guess what these are? I got them off of eBay months ago from a seller in England and they are no longer on the site to get the seller's contact information from to see if they knew.

All I know is that they supposedly came off a Granada. From what I can tell, they look the part.

Thanks!

Thanks everyone!

From the eBay link I saw the Ford part number that gave me this link: Car Part FORD 5007114 Wheel Bearing Kit

Shows all alternate part numbers..Bendix, Delphi, etc. Sure between them all, I'll be able to hunt this down now!

BTW, the one on eBay is just that...one side. Need two of course.

Hmmm....

Looks like the link is showing this part only working with Granada cars built from 1977 to 1985. That would be a Mk2 not a Mk3 I believe.

Not so sure that part number is correct then if these are Mk3 hubs.

Bill Is correct. Make sure they do not give you xr4ti parts they have to be Scorpio only marketed here a couple years. Set number 16 if I remember right.

Hi Darrin:

So Much for my memory. 24 looks correct. ID of bearing is very close to 41mm and they are two separate cone bearings.

Darrin,

Im sure you have MK 3 bearing carriers, because I have MK 2 ones, The MK 2 only had drum brakes on the back, and my bearing carriers do not have the lugs to fix the brake calipers onto, So as yours have lugs for the calipers, you must have MK 3's....

Mick

Thanks folks!

I think I'll see if I can push the old ones out gracefully tonight and either measure them or hopefully see the OEM part numbers on them.

As Mick and David say, I am pretty sure these are for the Granada Mk3, but as some sites say 24 is front and others that 24 is rear I'm not sure which site is correct.

I do need fronts as well but I got the aftermarket Mk2 style aluminum fronts sold by the kit builder and I don't know if the Mk2 fronts are the same as far as bearings go as the Mk3 is. I asked the builder several days ago but haven't heard back yet as to what the front should use.

Darinn,

Ive just measured my bearings the best I can, because they are still in the carriers.

The ID is 37 mm. The OD is 74 mm, but it is difficult to measure them accuratly

THANKS Mick! It's very much appreciated!

I'll cross reference that to the specs for the Timken SET24 and see if that matches up. I am pretty sure I saw it online in one or two of the sites.

I bet it's safe to use the Mark 2 bearings with those hubs. On the kit builder's site he says his uprights are a "direct replacement" for Granada 2 front uprights, and those aluminum hubs look exactly like the Granada 2 hubs I have (although I'm sure they're much much lighter).

The bearings I'm using in my Granada 2 Hubs/spindles are Bilstein part number 05394. But then again, it's looking like I may not be using those spindles...

Good times

These are the specs for the Bilsteins:

Width [mm]: 14,75
Width [mm]: 14,5
Inner Diameter [mm]: 29
Inner Diameter [mm]: 17,5
Outer Diameter [mm]: 50,3
Outer Diameter [mm]: 39,9
Fitting Position: Front Axle left and right
Fitting Position: Rear Axle left and right
Weight [kg]: 0,215
Required quantity: 2

I think a suitable sub might be SET24 with A-31 listed as an alternative (off of a 1982 Ford escort 1.6l at autozone) but I'm having trouble finding a similar table of dimensions to be sure.

Worst case scenario: I could buy some locally and send them to you. (probably cost like $5 in shipping for something that small)

Ninja edit: according to page 383 of http://www.timken.com/es-es/products/Documents/Bearing_Specification_Guide.pdf

looking at part numbers: jl68145 and jl68111-z (they make up SET24) it doesn't look like they'll work. sorry...

Bill, I think I will take you up on that if you still want to do it. I just cannot find any bearings here in the US for the MK3 rear hubs. I can get a set of front ones from my builder (assuming he has them in stock) but as for the rears, if you can price them for me I'll forward you the funds along with shipping!
