Audi 012 LSD

Hi everybody
Couldn’t see a post on this already but if there is one apologies.

I have an Audi 012 gear box and want to put a LSD I to it.
I know it’s the same a Porsche Boxster gearbox, except ratios, but which Boxster exactly is it the same as? Which model Boxster and gearbox?

I have been looking at quaif LSD’s but also wondering if it would be ok to use a second hand Boxster LSD from eBay?

What are people’s thoughts on this. Ideally yes Quaif is way to go but trying to save a few $$$.

Hi Marcus,
I'm by no way of an expert of know much about those but had been looking around to get 5th ratio changed on the 012 and possibly 1st as well not to mention final drive on R&P.
Could not find any information even though they are similar to the G86, yes they do have slightly different castings but still very close to each other.
Decided to go with Cayman trans and spent more $$$ hoping not to be revisiting that part in near future

The Audi 012 would be similar to the G86.00 and G86.01. These were the standard five speed transmissions in the 986 Boxster base model (2.5L and 2.7L engines, not the S model with the 3.2, that one has the G86.20 which is not similar at all).
