I was wondering if these are good ratio's?
I'll get 13" minilite rims with 65 high tires.

This is not for a gt40 but for a project mid-engined car.

BTW. I can get more 016, 01e and 01X transaxle's for nice prices. Since, I belive, you guys can't really get them in the states. So if I could help you guys out let me know.

Bram,
The 4.56 gearing is likely to make first gear unusable I think. My 5N box has the same first gear (as do they all) with a 4.11 ring & pinnion and I'm running 295 50 15's and first gear is almost useless. You should look for a box with the 3.98 ring & pinnion I think you will be much happier even if it cost you extra.
Steve

Can I just change some gears then? I can get this gearbox for 75 euro (aprox. 100USD) so it's maybe cheaper to do that.

What determins the final drive? ring and pinnion?
Where can I get them?

bram

The turbo gasoline cars (petrol) had the 3.89 ring and pinion. You need to find a gearbox from a 1984-1991 Audi 200 or 100 with turbo.

This would give you an overal top ratio just under 3 to 1 which is acceptable but the first gear ratio is around 16.5 to 1 which is entirely too low unless pulling stumps.

Bram,

I am looking for an Audi 01X with code FYA, can you find one of them:thumbsup:?

Hi Joz,

I can get many of them, do you want a new or a used one?

Used from: $1300 with 91.800km on the clock 2005 model, if you put in a extra $350 you can get them with only 20.000 on the clock 2006 model.
I also found 3 new ones for $1900 2007 model.

Add a $100 getting them shipped to me and packaging etc.
These prices don't include shipping. I'm not a company so not VAT. or something.

If you're ok with the price mail me at bramus046(at)hotmail(dot)com then I can also give you a accurate shipping costs, time etc.

Greetz,

Bram Boekestein

I can assist in the logistics either consolidating items in my European ocean container imports or airfreighting individual units.
