They were four true Mk I Road cars, not race cars (except 1030 was not one of the 30 Road cars, but it was sold as a car for the road. The red car is a competition car). 1030 never had stripes while privately owned, but before it was sold, Shell painted it red and put gold stripes on it for their ad. 35 years later, Ford borrowed the car and put stripes on it for a photo shoot in 2002 (they redid the shot without stripes because they thought it was too distracting, even though it was in the background)
At the 60th GT40 reunion, someone pointed out that 1030 was the only car without stripes.
