Auto transaxles/transmissions

Would there be any interest in a full transmission build or the parts to convert an Audi awd 8hp auto trans to a fed only for mid engine cars like ours? I have a company who is well known here willing to build the entire trans up to 1500-1800 hp or the parts to convert yourself which is literally just unbolting the rear tail shaft housing and installing the adapter and cover. If there is a market for this he is interested in doing this for the guys who want a bad ass auto with paddle shift or whatever. The 8hp trans is a bad ass platform!!!

Fwd only not fed. Stupid auto correct

I would be interested in 5hp19 build up to about 500lb/ft and connection to ls PCM's
there is only one guy who has a 5hp19 standalone to run it. you can get the adapter tho cause its already been made. 500hp is about the limit but hp isnt as big a issue as the onset of torque vs weight and instant traction.

we building a kit car with a 4 rotor turbo engine. been a hassle to find a 6speed that would be up to the task and what is up to the task is very pricey.
We where sold a porsche box but turns out its from a aspirated engine and is also a issue to fit seeing the box must be flipped upside down.
i have access to getting a 8hp from a Audi RS7 hence my interest wen seeing your post.

what are your machining abilities like? its not a hard conversion but without machining parts you wont be able to. contoller wise a turbolamik should be able to control it. they make hard parts for those transmissions to built them stronger. it should be a 8hp55

I have done some homework. CANtcu for control without interfering with the mechatronic and solenoids like required for by turbolamik but option to use it is open. I have access to both brands.
Machining is also not a issue.
Need to look at dimensions of the 8hp95A nd 8hp65 variants.

i dont think the cantcu will work for those. the turbolamik isnt hard to install but gives a whole lot better and tuning is much better too. i can send a video of what need to be done to get rid of the awd torsen.

I am thrilled to find this post! I am working on a mid engine project and would love to use the 8HP with Turbolamik as a transaxle like you describe. Would you mind sharing any information that you have? I would be very grateful.

keep in mind of the length of these also. with the axles so far forward you get alot of overhang. i am also doing a 8hp90 from a bentley w12 which from all the measurements is the same parts for the tail drive system. once i get it put together ill post about the process and what we did. so far its pretty straight forward. the 8hp90 can take way more than most people could even drive with.

You mentioned in the thread a video that explains what is needed to get rid of the AWD Torsen. Would you share that with me? Do you make the adaptor and tail shaft cover? Can’t wait to see the details of your project!

im gonna make a video of it when i am done. once im done yes i will make a sale whats needed.

Let me know when you have more info. I'd be interested for a non-GT40 project.
Thanks
if its a diablo it will hang out the rear by alot. a murci might fit because of the rear being more square. a f40- will fit. ive measured it for my own diablos and it was about 6" past the bumper.
